"Could end up sittin' near anyone," she agreed, opening her can and curling her hands around the cool aluminium. She rolled it between her palms for a moment before taking a sip. As the man put the tea-bag to one side, she tilted her head curiously. It looked like tea, but the bag was oozing a slight green colour. Green tea? She'd never had it before, but Charlie was always talking about peach tea, and herbal tea, and how good it was to detoxify your body or something like that.
She felt her expression fall a little as she thought about Charlie, that now familiar weight in her chest that she felt was trying to drag her heart into her tummy and then down into the floor like it could pull it right out of her chest if it tried hard enough. Would that ever go away?
With the can carefully replaced on the table, she picked up one of her fries and dipped it in her ketchup, chewing on it before she swallowed, held out her other hand over the table and introduced herself.
