Lucas paused a little mid-taking a bite of his food, replaying a little about what it sounded like he said in his head. There was a truth to it. He wanted to give his agents freedom. As much as he was allowed to in a way. There was only so much he was capable of when it came to this place and only so much that he could do. "Why?" He tilted his head to the side with a curious expression.
Lucas took another bite of his food. "Should I worry that someone wants to spend their time napping? Or watching tv? I make sure they have their basic needs. Human contact regardless if they want to see my face or not. I would move the Earth for my agents. But I'm not going to constantly watch over their every move. If they want something, I do my best to get it for them. I train them. I've assigned them all to a therapist. My office door is always open when they need it. I play an active part in their survival. But if their free time is better spent without me there. Than I respect their space." Lucas pursed his lips together, considering the offered ice cream for a moment. It wasn't that he didn't give a shit. But it was that he cared a little too much. He would always step in when it was necessary.
"Might've been a bit more relaxed work." He took a scoop of the ice cream with a smile on his face. "I like the seat-of-your-pants kind of work. I'm not much of an arguer. Who needs career longevity?"
