Who: Tyler & Open When: Thursday Afternoon Where: Hologym What: Working on control
Tyler knew how to mute the colors he saw every day, but there were times- such as in the hologym- when the sheer amount of energy made it difficult. He hated -hated- working in the hologym for this reason. Besides that his powers didn't work on the simulations because the energy they output was electricity and data not real radio signals... well they worked, but not in the way he needed to train for the field. Still, there were location in the real world that overwhelmed him (Times Square and the Vegas strip as examples) so practice made perfect.
He didn't really pay attention to what sim he put on, he set the settings to the lowest which meant that any combatants would only attack if he attacked first. As he entered the sim he saw it was a wild west town. He walked to the middle of the room and took as seat in the middle of the down on the fake dirt floor. It still amazed him how it felt real, but if he looked beyond the energy he could see the electrical energy that made up the projections. The entire place was blinding. He closed his eyes a moment- not that it really helped limit the input- and got into something of a meditative pose. Slowly he opened his eyes and looked at the room, he focused and tried to turn down the electrical energy, turning down the saturation in a away so it faded. It was hard as it was everywhere and he sat there completely still for about ten minutes before it was at a point that he could tolerate. Exhaling slowly he reached a hand out to try to bring just one of the sources from what would be an enemy to the front. He felt a pressure in his temples grow as he focused on keeping everything dim but the one cowboy. He then reached out and 'pulled' on the teal and dark blue color and saw it 'open' allowing him to see beyond the hologram and almost into the programming. It was amazing and probably the only type of thing he'd be able to accomplish this time of perception.
A shot rang out and the cowboy he was focused on faded, vanishing as he was shot. The start made Tyler loose his focus and all the teal and dark blue came back with a vengeance. "Fuck!" He turned, squinting to see who'd disrupted his practice. "What the hell?"
