“If that would be more comfortable for you, that’s absolutely fine.” As long as Stratford was able to do what was necessary, Rachel didn’t have any major regulations about where it happened. Plus, many people around this base (Abby included, apparently) had several issues with doctors. She wouldn’t be the first of Rachel’s agents with that particular problem.
Rachel nodded. “It’s true, they are. But they have advantages. For instance, it doesn’t require you to be within arms distance of a potential threat. My intention isn’t that you should ever have to use one in the field, but it’s one of those skills I’d prefer you have and not need, rather than need and not have.”
Once more, the Handler nodded. She sat back in her seat, appraising Abby with an even stare. “It’s in your file that you shouldn’t be stopped. Since it seems like a harrowing enough process for you, I have no intention of ever making it worse.”
