“There are a lot of them,” Rachel agreed. “And if that’s the system you’re used to – having assistance in deciphering them, we can certainly continue that. I know it won’t be the same without Jester,” she said it as tenderly as possible; the way that Abby looked when she mentioned the boy spoke volumes. “But we may be able to find someone else with similar skills to help us out. I’ll try to keep the system as close to Lucas’ as possible, for the sake of your transition.”
While Rachel didn’t have many good things to say about Lucas Frost, he had clearly earned Abby’s trust, and that was clearly not a small feat. “You can keep delivering your drawings to me, as you did with Lucas. If, for whatever reason I’m not on the base, I’ll arrange with Handler Davies to collect the drawings.”
She smiled softly. “How were you getting along in your training?”
