“Actually, I was under the impression you needed to speak with me,” Rachel replied, looking up from her desk with a welcoming smile. Since returning to Limbo, there had been a lot to catch up on, and she was beyond grateful that the others, in her absence, had been around to assist when she could not. The drawings that Abby had created and left for her in Russell’s care had already been passed onto her, and they were stacked neatly on top of Rachel’s desk while she waited for her newest charge to come and see her.
Even if Rachel hadn’t known that Agent Krause was timid beforehand, her demeanour now would have laid that fact out quite clearly. Rachel widened her smile, making it as kind as she could. She gestured for Abby to come into the office, motioning towards the seat next to her own. “Come on in, please. Would you like some water? I have a few bottles.”
She turned her chair towards the empty one as she patiently waited for the redhead to come inside. “I’m glad you’ve come to see me. I’m sorry I wasn’t here during the week; I would have liked to have helped with your transition. I understand that you were with Handler Frost for quite some time; the move must have been quite startling.”
