Ruby hadn't actually stopped cussing herself out for being so careless, so idiotic. Getting caught was the one thing she was not supposed to do; the whole 'check your surroundings, make sure no one's there, don't get seen' had been drilled into her time and time and time again. She could only imagine just what her father was doing now. He was probably back in the woods if she were honest. It wouldn't really surprise her. But now she was here, at one of the facilities, deemed ready from training to be assigned her own placement. Sure, it was probably better than sitting around, doing evaluations and jumping through hoops until they thought she was ready to perform, and she was hoping that it meant maybe she could find something, anything, that might give her some kind of help finding Jade. She knew they had ways to stop her projecting, and she knew they had people walking the astral plane now, she'd be way more careful, take better precautions. She'd need to wait, until she wasn't being watched, being monitored for whatever kind of rebellion she might try. Waiting wasn't her strong suit though, and while she was told she'd be meeting handlers and agents and all that fun stuff in due time, she was free to work her way around the compound, within the standard rules set for agents, and that led Ruby to the gymnasium, hoping to at least punch something, and if she couldn't, she'd settle for working herself to exhaustion in the hope she'd actually sleep this week. Finding the gymnasium did not take much. What she found in the gymnasium made her stutter to a stop though. |
