Cleo was smart, definitely knew when to cut and run, but then there were times when she knew a little kindness and compassion went a long way. There had been a time when she had no control and had basically been a walking talking pin cushion so she knew what it was to struggle.
"Amen to that," she returned with a sharp smirk, teeth exposed and eyes bright. "Upside you're not alone here."
She helped herself to more popcorn as Amber declined the offer and she just snorted quietly. "Next time, baby girl. Next time." As she crunched on her popcorn she watched Amber breathing and reached out to press the flat expanse of her palm against the other woman's stomach. "Breathe in until you can just about feel my hand and breathe out until you can't feel it anymore."
