Right. Good advice. Amber nodded aggressively, but she was still going through bouts of not following said advice very well. Raphael had been helping her; helping her train and get a handle on all of these things. And now—well. Now he was gone. What was she going to do? How was she going to figure all of this out? Especially when, now, she had nothing to help alleviate some of the more disastrous effects of her powers?
“Yeah, well, usually I just get baked rather than laid—it helped enough.”
When Cleo caught her eye, Amber found herself pausing right in the middle of her pacing. “Yes. Okay. Sure. Right.” Amber stepped away from the television and got somewhat closer to the woman who had sat up a bit in her seat. Not too close, of course. Just in case. “Maybe if I just—,” she sat down on the floor, close by the woman’s sofa. She practiced what the woman had said – just breathe.
