She didn’t exactly like guns, but she could handle one. The shooting range was a respite from the rest of the compound; it was virtually never as busy as the rest of the facility, and the combination of headphones and gunshots drowned out any other noise and thought. With a shooting gallery, tunnel vision was encouraged, focusing all one’s energy on one specific point; a target with a bulls-eye. With every squeeze of her trigger finger, Jade managed to hit the target—but she was struggling on making the kill shots. Head. Heart. Instead, the outline of her target was getting a bunch of hits to the lungs and neck.
Squeeze. The SEA had failed. Bang! She and Ruby were stuck here indefinitely. The bullet sailed. She still had to follow the orders of Lucas fucking Frost. This time, the she didn’t even hit the outline of her target, but outside the black, human-shaped silhouette.
It was time to call it for the day.
Jade set the emptied handgun down, leaving it and the headphones with the facilitator. As she turned to head away from the shooting gallery, she noticed the tall guy with a bow strapped to his back, setting up his own range. Only instead of bullets, his ammunition's were arrows. She watched for a moment, genuinely curious, before she stepped up beside him -- giving him a wide berth of room still -- to admire the set up. "Hobby, or do you actually use these in the field?"
