- JADE, VASILY, SANDY, ASH -
Glancing at Override one last time, Jade then leapt through the portal after Chameleon and Wild Thing. Those two were already on their game – taking down guards – while Jade approached the group of six, scared children huddled and crying. Panicked children weren’t exactly her forte.
Fortunately, the appearance of their mutual babysitter seemed to give them a moment of relief – familiarity had been key – if a bit of confusion when Chameleon roundhouse kicked the guard with the gun right out of Farscape.
Jade knelt in front of the kids and attempted to make her neutral expression somewhat kinder. “Hey guys – we’re here to get you home!”
That didn’t seem to convince them. Fair enough.
Hearing Wild Thing’s whimper, Jade glanced over her shoulder and saw the sparks of blue flame. We have a super in the field. She frowned. They needed to get these kids out of this boxed room fast.
With purple energy crackling on her fingertips again, Jade opened a new portal close to the group of children. As the space began to crack open, the portal glowed; on the other side was a street and a van, where Frost and Page were waiting. “I know it’s scary,” she told them, “But if you walk through there, you’re going to get far, far away from these guys. Sandy here,” she smiled up at the blonde telepath, “Is even going to walk right through there with you, okay?”
