- JADE, VASILY, SANDY, ASH -
Sandy looked down at Vasily - Wild Thing - as he changed and her surprise at his ability was written all over her face. She nodded in response to the question, trying to focus on keeping a communication between herself and Vasily open and resisting the urge to reach out and touch his fur to see if it was soft. She thought he would probably mind, so she kept her hands to herself.
As they walked, she stayed in the middle of the group, behind Vasily. I've got you, she told him, directly into his mind. Tell me when you smell something.
She pressed her lips together. She had a link to Vasily, sure, but she also had the minds of the other team, the hostages and the kidnappers and the bleed-over from the nearby city. They were far enough away that it wasn't a roar but it wasn't exactly easy for her to block out and so she balled her hands into fists, nails biting into her palms and bit the inside of her cheek to try and keep herself focused. But it was hard, and she stumbled once or twice because she was so busy focused on trying to keep herself together that she couldn't fully focus on walking.
