- JADE, VASILY, SANDY, ASH -
Jade offered Sandy a small, gentle smile when the telepath explained she couldn’t detail a location. “It’s a good start,” she replied. “If they’re okay physically, it means we won’t have to worry about specializing the evacuation.”
The big gun part, well. That wasn’t a surprise, but it could gum up the works of their exit a little.
Watching Wild Thing transition from mortal man into canine was, not surprisingly, a lot to take in. he had quite the power-set, that man; and in a way she was almost envious. There seemed to be some silence exchange between him and the telepath, but as they worked out their connection in the mind, Jade kept her focus primarily on the environment – so far, no guards were in sight.
Wild Thing, as a hound, took the lead with his keen nose. Jade continued to man the rear of their search party, her gun still handy, but lowered. “When we find where they’re being kept, the guards’ weapons will have to be priority.” That was probably obvious to the entire crew; and among the four of them, hopefully disarming would be a quick and relatively painless endeavor.
Chameleon and Wild Thing seemed pretty ready to handle the kidnappers regardless. If they kept the men busy, Jade and Sandy could remove the children.
As they came upon a long water-soaked corridor full of rusting doors and random, overturned, and dilapidated office furniture, Jade turned her back to the group and raised her weapon, keeping her eyes peeled for any moving silhouettes that might be tracking them.
