Lucas was suddenly thankful his back was turned to her. A bemused smirk tugging at the corner of his lips was something he wouldn't really want to be seen. For some handlers he had met, the quick remarks probably would've gotten under their skin a lot more than they had with him. He was used to it. He had to deal with the McCall family on more than once occasion and had lived to tell the tale relatively sane. It was sometimes the most difficult part of the job. Trying not to laugh at the sarcasm even if it was pointed angrily in his direction.
But he was successful in it. "I was going for comforting. You'd have a roof in your head instead of getting lost in the woods." He tapped the folder with a half-way to smug expression on his face. The handler didn't really look over the fact she'd tucked her hands in her pockets as much as he should've just noticed but simply from the expression on her face he'd imagine all the things she wished she could do to him rather than being held back the way she was.
"House I wanted was more expensive than that." He cleared his throat for a moment before stopping at a hallway. "Down this hallway is the exit to the barracks, my team is on the second floor." Lucas reached into his pocket, checking his phone for the time before looking over to Jade. "I'll leave you to it, Miss Hensley. Good luck."
