Ever since his arrival in Limbo Evan had spent a large majority of his time familiarising himself with his fellow handler and the supers they'd been assigned. He was ex-marine and he understood the value of knowing your squad and past experience had taught him that the more he knew then the better chance he had of actually making a difference.
Being a handler might seem like a good choice of career but truth was it could be and definitely was difficult, especially if like Evan you knew a little something about discrimination and being treated different. It was however a huge opportunity and too good of one to pass up because of some moral high ground that he was pretty sure didn't exist any longer because he'd done and seen things in war that were questionable at best. He did however try to act with integrity and he hoped that people saw that but sometimes he just needed to get out, work off some restless energy and leave the handler behind and just be Evan.
Today this took the form of a run around the facility with earbuds in his ears and music driving his every movement until eventually after about an hour and a half he came to a stop, hands pulling the earbuds out and breath escaping him as he just raked his hair back and he just stopped for the time being.
A glance at the strap on his right wrist reassured him that he'd not only made good time but he'd also achieved the heartrate, calorie burn and distance he'd been looking to get to.
