There was no way for June to know yet if Will was a good guy or not. Right now all she knew about him was that he was her father and had a big family. She was just a small part of that family. She always wondered what her father's family was like. Now that she had met them she hoped that she fit amongst them. That was going to take longer than a few months.
"Right now I'm just not sure what to say to him. I'm eighteen. He's missed everything," there was a strain in her voice. It was almost as if she was upset. Which she was, her biological father was a sensitive subject with her. "I'm not going to let myself get hurt." At least she didn't plan to. There was always the chance it could spin out of her control but she didn't see that happening.
