Shifting, Izzy sat right beside June, an arm around her shoulders. It was shocking, sometimes, to see the way everything worked out. Not that it always worked out for the best, but time would tell. Still...
"What did he say? What was he like?" She paused. All of these questions, and she was sure June didn't have any answers either. Not yet. "Listen, as you get to know him, if you want to get to know him, just remember that I'm here for you, and that if he steps out of line, I'll be there, too."
Izzy might not have been a violent person, but she was protective, and June was one of those people she felt very protective about. June was her best friend, and she'd always considered the blonde to be a gentle soul. She hoped the best for this turn of events. She hoped June's father turned out to be a really great guy who could make up for things, but if he wasn't, then she just hoped he didn't make things worse.
