Cassidy tilted his head slightly. "I can't say I prefer being here to be turned into a soldier over being back in New York with my family." His chosen family of course considering he'd run away from the foster system years earlier. His tone wasn't completely bitter as much as it was matter of fact.
He nodded. "I can do that." Cassidy started to pick at the guitar. "It'll sound better with a piano." He informed, having that in mind when he wrote it. As the playing started he tried to project a 'safe' emotion, something calm, happy, content and not the loss that would have normally accompanied the feeling of the song. "I'm going nowhere- I can't move forward. I'm so much colder than I've been..." He started to sing. The passion was clear in his voice and despite never having felt a real breakup before, he had a way of making the words feel real and genuine.
