Dove definitely couldn't imagine living life with drugs constantly swirling in your system, least of all if Sandy's powers was mind reading, doing that uncontrollably while under drug influence? Even just sedation, coming back from that. Dove didn't like the sound of it.
"That sounds awful. How can they get away-- No, I'm not going to start something else." She'd just calmed down, she didn't need to get worked up about something else, it would just cause Sandy a headache and that wasn't fair. Even though she already felt like apologising again, she made a point in stopping herself.
She wasn't sure if she'd agree with Sandy that being somewhere outside, but being on the streets or in a bad situation was better than being here. They might not have rights, but they were fed and had water and a roof and a home. But it wasn't like she could understand Sandy's situation, so there wasn't really a way that Dove could compare things.
"I am, thanks." And it was the truth, Dove was surprised to find. She didn't feel so bummed out. "I'm still a little sorry I went all mind crazy at you. I'll try and keep my thoughts at least at room volume and not all shouty." If that was even possible.
