"Unique, huh?" Alex said with an arch of her eyebrow. "I've genuniely never heard that adjective used as a positive thing. Only as a way of nicely categorising something that's not really all that nice." She tucked her hair behind her ear and shrugged a shoulder. She'd gotten through the intense training that was part of her police academy training. She could take whatever they threw at her, unless they asked her to do something with her powers in which case she'd have absolutely no idea.
Besides, the idea of actually using her powers made her feel really uncomfortable. Who would she even test her powers on? She couldn't just practise it on someone, it felt like an absolute violation. She didn't even know how she'd activate all of her powers, the ones that the captured Super had blurted out.
She rubbed her hand over her face and then shifted how she was sitting. "You'd be expecting me to go out and use my..." she waved a hand, "on someone without their permission? Or... to make them do what I wanted? I-" She didn't want to argue, but she didn't like that idea. "I just... I don't like the idea of being able to manipulate people like that. I've spent the last week second guessing every interaction since my teenage years, just in case I made it happen."
Pressing her lips together, she listened as he explained about the need for a team. "Is that... is that fully sanctioned? If missions go overseas, doesn't that kinda count as a private militia?" She was just curious- she knew that she had no say in what happened to her right now, but she supposed being informed was probably the best outcome she could hope for.
