Who: The Outsiders [Sandy, Calvin, Cassidy, Toledo, Alejandro] What: Telepathic communication - Sandy has an update. When: Immediately after this Where: Wherever they all are- they don't need to be in the same place for telepathy! Rating: PG-13 for swears?
Sandy stepped away from the computer and turned it off, feeling pretty horrified at what she'd just been told by one of the handlers. Firstly, she wondered why he would have told them that - considering he was a handler - but if it was true, and all of their conversations were monitored then was there really any point in ever marking anything as private?
She moved to sit on her bed, legs crossed and back braced against the wall. Closing her eyes, she took in a deep breath and reached out with her powers. The minds of everyone on the base were loud and bright, buzzing with noise and life and conversations that she might have been interested in listening to if she wasn't busy trying to locate specific individuals. Thankfully, the minds she was looking for were easy to locate; she'd been able to pick some of them out of the crowd for years. It really didn't matter how many folks were around her: she always knew where to find her people.
One by one, she brushed their minds with her own, setting up the telepathic conversational link that had, at one time, been a daily occurrence for them. Alejandro, Cassidy, Calvin, Tammy. The network of minds was easy for her to establish, like slipping into a comfortable jumper. It was something she knew. And once the connection was established, she was able to open her eyes again. All the other thoughts in the compound faded to a whisper, rather than a roar.
[Testing,] she called out over the network. [I know I haven't done this in a while- hope you all can hear me ok? Have you seen? They can read all our fucking private conversations on the network.]
Well, she'd never been one to beat around the bush.
