Sandy lifted a shoulder and offered him a small smile in response to his raised eyebrow and a look that said "at least I gave it back" in response.
"Unsurprisingly," she commented, "most people have an issue with it. I wish I could control it better," she confessed, "it's hard when you hear everything no matter what. Especially in a place like this."
She looked out at the field and blew out a breath, returning her eyes to Aidan after a moment. "And sometimes it's hard to distinguish between what's a thought and what I hear. It all sounds the same to me. So if I do pick up on something you've not said, it's not intentional."
She leaned forward and pressed her lips together. "How long have you been here?"
