Aside from the faintest sheen of sweat on his brow Bear looked like he had woken up from a refreshing nap. Not a bruise on his flesh, nor any sign of fatigue in his eyes. Two hours into this sparring session though hadn't come without a price. Oh he had reach and size on his opponent, plus her reaction time and moments were far from sharp thanks to the alcohol she kept consuming. However Jo had him beat in raw strength without a doubt. Between that, and her ability to heal, the young woman made quite a sparring partner. For every ten strikes he had landed on her Jo managed to only get one or two in. However those one or two were doing some damage, even though he never showed it.
Beneath that tough muscled hide of his was a few cracked ribs, and bruised kidney. The large man was tough, but he didn't heal quickly like she did. Still Bear could keep pressing on, keep pushing forward with relative ease. Oh there was no doubt that Avery would chew him out later...especially since the mountain of a man had been to see her more then a few times in the last few weeks. However none of that mattered right now; not in the midst of having so much fun.
Here and now he had no need to hold back. No need to fret or pull his punches. So for two hours the big guy had been going all out. Not the usual berserk and reckless way that most came to expect from him, but instead he focused on deflection, counter striking, and keeping her off balance. Over and over Bear kept her off kilter to the best of his ability. Wrist and elbow locks used to break those joints of hers. Throws and 'cheap shots' used to keep that tiny powerhouse from landing much in the way of a direct hit. Anyone else would've been dead or passed out long ago; yet she kept coming, and so did he...all while grinning as that booming laughter of his echoed out across the room.
His stance and guard never lowered, never faltered, and when she stepped back up to him already the massive man was on the offensive. That enhanced combat gift of his being utilized to the fullest as he kept switching up his styles and moves to keep her off guard even more. This time feinting with a sweep of his leg, only to aim from a strike to her gut with his knee.
