Juliet & David
The Everglades never did anything like this. There was a slight apprehension that was building up in Dave. The kind that warned him in the back of his mind that this could all get taken away if someone just decided that it was too much. If they had heard too much of his happiness or decided he should go back to Florida. He wanted to say that he could get lost in this moment, he wanted to be lost with her. When they had stepped out into free space that it could easily be forgotten what they were given or what small allowances they had. David looked more like a deer in the headlights than anything. The awkward seventh grader standing to the side at a school dance as he walked around the group.
He knew exactly why he had come with.
David had learned how much time was precious when he was in the Regiment that it was easily forgotten how much time he had lost himself. How much time had picked apart the man that once was as he watched Juliet walk towards him before casually slipping her hand into his. The tension in his body almost immediately melting away as he ran his thumb along the side of her hand. David looked out into the surrounding area with a fond expression on his face. "I don't know if you remember...my falling on my ass the entire time. Reflexes or not. I knew how to take a fall pretty hard. Like a baby deer." He looked at her with a shy smile on his face. "You might have to teach me. Don't worry though, I'm a quick study."
