At least his comment had prompted some response out of her. He was sure her sister would be less than amused at anything he had to say but he was used to the weapons grade eye-rolling that accompanied Jade when he was...opening his mouth. Unsure if she actually heard anything he said or if it was just all in one ear and out the other, not that he would certainly blame her. "Gotta keep you on your toes somehow. The last time we were caught off guard, someone's arm got chopped off on a mission." There was a sly look at that but it wasn't anything that he was proud of. He was the handler of that mission and he still considered it a failure even if they got what they wanted and information to go along with it. "They seriously downplay the skills of the handlers on staff."
If she had voiced her concerns, Lucas might have been able to set something up where she could have movie watching in the privacy of her own room. But then, there was also the thing where he could be accused of caring too much. Something a few people would say he did. "Too many people fit over the damn tv if you don't get to the sofa before the rush gets in, I've seen it. It's like survival of the fittest."
"I am. She was recently assigned to me." He didn't see any point to lie about it. It wasn't something that he was ashamed of. Why Jade was there, however, was something that he was. "That's the general rule of thumb for any of the agents in the Regiment. But...I prefer knives to guns any given day. SEA passes, I can't get too flabby just relying on the agents here."
