The girls apprehension over the opinion of her wings was clear, she thought sharing another off physical change might help. "And these bright purple eyes- or so I'm told. Our parents took us out of school around that time because they were scared someone would find out."
"I was about twelve when my hair changed and my vision in the dark got better. But my skin didn't change until I was sixteen." She informed. "It was nice having siblings when I was younger, but I was also in the hospital when my skin changed... So I was sort of found out. It's been a long time since I've seen my brother." Mira said softly, knowing she needed to bite the bullet and see him now. "He arrived here the other week actually." The soup was done and she put it in a bowl before flipping the sandwich in the pan. "At least you had family though, some people you meet here had no one." She spoke plainly but sweetly to the girl.
She remembered what it was like to be in a strange place being strange. She thought the girl was a little fortunate as she had her parents and time to get used to her wings before being thrown into a place like Limbo- thought it did sound like they pushed the isolation on her. When Mira had arrived in the children's facility she'd been red for weeks, and was not prepared to handle the social reaction to it.
"There we go." She plated the sandwich, cut along each diagonal to give four triangular slices, she set the bowl on the plate and lined the sandwich up neatly. She always liked her dishes to look nice when she had the time. "How about we continue this out there, that way you can sit and eat?" She offered, handing the girl the plate.
