Juniper's stomach rumbled loudly as Mira listed of foods. She'd survived on sandwiches and snacks since she arrived, having snuck out late at night to grab whatever cold food could be kept and stored until the next day, so when she really thought about it, she was hungry. All of those options sounded good.
She followed Mira to the kitchen and then stopped when they reached the doorway. She hesitated, partly because she didn't know if she was allowed to walk in but also because she needed to assess the width and work out how to fold her wings in so that she could move through the door without getting them caught. She'd done it once already, they didn't have such wide doors here as she was used to back at the farm, so it was an adjustment, not smacking herself on the frames.
"Um-" she rubbed her hand together in thought, her bag hanging off her arm, "Could I have grilled cheese and soup? I- I haven't had a hot meal since I arrived."
The deserts did smell delicious: it made her mouth water. She'd have to ask Dove to bring her some brownies back when they came out. Briefly, she wondered which holiday it was, since it was only February, but then she remembered Valentine's day and was glad she'd not asked that question aloud.
