“No,” Juniper was quick to try and reassure Dove that it was okay. She had actually quite liked having someone to talk to, and Dove had been much nicer than she’d ever expected anyone to be. It was… it was nice. It made her feel a little bit less lonely. She still felt homesick, and she was quite sure she always would, but maybe she could feel a little less isolated if she started trying to make friends.
Carefully - so she didn’t knock Dove with her wings - she turned to pick up her bag and held it against her chest once more. “Plans for baking,” she agreed with a nod of her head. “It- yeah, that sounds nice. Thanks.”
She bit her lower lip and ducked her head, smiling as she shuffled away. “It was nice to meet you,” she added quickly before she disappeared into her room and closed the door.
It had been a very long time since she’d made friends, or even had other people around that weren’t her mom and dad. But maybe… maybe it wasn’t going to be that scary?
