Kat shrugged at Abby's comment-questions. She didn't know most of the details around the missions. She mostly was a soldier who took orders and delivered results for the regiment, or at least that was how it felt most days. "Can you direct your visions at all? Like... if you concentrate on someone or something, can you see their future?" Somewhere deep inside, a part of her swelled with hope but she tried not to let Abby see that shine through.
She snorted at that comment. "They probably would have gotten shanked with your toothbrush if they took it away again." She shook her head like she disapproved but Kat was still smiling. The kid sounded like someone that she could have rubbed off on.
"You're only as useless as you let yourself be. But between you and me, you don't seem like the type that would enjoy having a power that could actually do something, kitten." For once in their conversation, Kat was making a negative comment but not trying to grate on Abby's nerves. She was merely being honest, based off the first impression and how nervous Abby seemed to be just to engage with another human being.
