Some times it was worth having a friend with the ability to protect emotions. It was helpful when it was hard to stop feeling one way. "We'll hold on to that, okay?" she lightly squeezed his arm. It was better than nothing at all. She knew that some times hope was all they had to hold onto.
"Not really. I don't know who to trust here," she shrugged.
