It was lucky for her that, this time, when her powers gave away the secret she was trying so desperately--and so badly--to hide, there was someone with her who could make it go away, almost literally. Because she was not trying to consciously hold the hologym under her thrall, the scenery gave way to Argus's whims with ease. The result was far more peaceful and relaxing, though she remained on edge.
She wanted to hug him for it, but when she considered what feelings she had for him, it felt somewhat inappropriate. Instead, Evie bit her bottom lip and forced herself to take a deep breath. "Does it ever get easier? Any of it?" she asked, not sure what else she could say besides reiterating how dangerous she felt their world had become. There was no need; he knew.
