Toby thought of actually telling her about how absolutely embarrassing it was, but he didn't think it was an interesting subject. He was always falling and dropping things, so what would be new about that?
He actually had a brief thought of what people might think of them sitting like that. Toby didn't think people would think they were together, but not because of the same reasons she would probably think that - he could just agree with the rest of school when it comes to the point where Georgia would never see anything good about him and his lack of dating skills.
Toby laughed at her laugh and smiled at her smile. He enjoyed the good feeling, but when the James-subject was reached again, Toby looked away, shrugging. What would he say? He had nothing to say.
He was afraid that anything he could say would sound like he was either jealous or... well, or jealous. He didn't want that. He wasn't even jealous. Well, not much anyway.
