The fact that Rodolphus wanted to protect him, to stand up for him was heartening. He was offering Rabastan a way out of this embarrassment, this humiliation and on one had he was so grateful to his bother, but on the other hand he was so angry at Rodolphus for stepping in and trying to gain him preferential treatment. He wasn’t a child, he didn’t need to be looked after. In a year Rodolphus was going to be gone, graduated and how could he be expected to protect himself if he’d always had his brother jumping to his defence?
“Rodolphus, Lucius….I’m fine. Honestly.” He said, finishing unbuttoning his shirt and he threw it at his brother. “I don’t need to be babied, and I bet I can find my robes before anyone else.” Trousers now, and for a moment his hands trembled. It would have been so easy to just go back to the common-room with Regulus, but everyone would know. How could the rest of the team trust him? He wouldn’t even really be a part of the team if he couldn’t go through the some experiences. Trousers off, and again he threw those in Rodolphus’s direction. It was cold on the field in just a vest and underwear and despite himself he shivered but he wasn’t about to back down now.
