"I was going to head in now anyway, I'm not looking after you or a helpless git." Rabastan said, wondering how Regulus could be trying to apologise and yet be insulting at the same time. It was no doubt the drink talking and he was glad Regulus had at least enough grasp of himself not to cause another scene.
"Thank you," He said, a faint smile crossing his face. "Come on, lets get you back. Maybe after a lay down and some water you'll feel like coming to the party. You can't let us down."
This wasn't the way he wanted the evening to end but this was just something Rabastan was used to now. He'd do something, something he thought would make him important, make him special and then someone else would come along and eclipse him. It just hurt a little bit more that it was his best friend. The Blacks had everything anyway, Regulus could have left him this.
