"That was what I thought. Although I admit I thought at first it was too sweet to be anything but a dessert wine, but I think I was perhaps I was influenced too strongly by my company at the time." He said, apparently enjoying whatever memories the wine summoned, although clearly they were not memories he felt suitable to share with the young man opposite him. "But no, I think it would be most appropriate for our meetings. Very drinkable, very nice." He said finally, and set the glass down.
"Ah, yes. I can understand your fears. It was only a few years ago, after all, that your uncle caught a quaffle in a very uncomfortable manner and broke his right wrist. He wasn't the same for weeks, poor boy." Slughorn lamented, "A very dangerous game, but that is how some off us like to take our risks, but as a non-sportsman myself, I can certainly agree with you- it is always best to keep oneself firmly on the ground. Or at least, only a few feet off."
In response to the boy's comments on Honeydukes, he only nodded and sighed softly, "It does appear so, Julius, it does appear so. Every year I hope I shall have a student pass through these doors-" he nodded to the door of his office,"-a confectioner in the making who will remember his dear Potions Master and create my Mango and Pineapple Surprise, alas, I have never been so lucky."
His eyebrow raised slightly at the mention of 4th Years, and picked up his glass again, taking a leisurely swallow. "Ah, you mean our new members? I am sure they will. Are you hoping for a preview of the list?" He asked, wondering if this was the extra morsel he could throw the information-hungry young man, or if Julius would want more to appease him. "I suppose you can see a draft list. A smart and trust worthy young man like yourself can keep those lucky invitees in the dark for a day or so longer, can't you?"
