Who: Halle Gremlin
When: Day 15 turning into Night 15
Where: Ghoulish Guesthouse, then the House of Wax
What: Something's wrong with the graves
Warning/Status: General HG
After paying a brief, wordless tribute to Brock's grave, Halle set to work. She made every move with with precision. This plan could easily backfire on her--rather literally--but fortune favored the brave, and she had everything she needed to make this work. It pained her to dump out or hurriedly drink whatever water she had left in her canteens, but she felt sure she wouldn't need them much longer, anyway. Carefully, carefully, she poured her remaining gasoline into the canteens. She used her cutting pliers and the strange little scissors from the suture kit Shay and Miles sent to cut each of pant legs off at the knee. Cutting the fabric into strips, she then dipped the strips into the canteens to soak in the gasoline. Closing each lid wasn't easy with the bit of fabric hanging out, but she managed to secure them as best she could. After wiping as much of the dripping gasoline as she could off of her hands, Halle checked her matches. Well, they were better weapons than a wrench, at any rate. Something rustled to her side, and Halle looked up, alert. It wasn't another tribute. A mutt? Something from inside the house? She wasn't sure. The movement came again, and this time, Halle could place it. It was coming from the ground. It was coming from the graves. A low, muffled moan escaped as the dirt over each dead tribute's grave unsettled itself. Halle's heart pounded. More moans and screams rose from the earth, and Halle was on her feet. Fuck this. She grabbed at her supplies and ran south. By the time she got to the House of Wax, her knee was killing her. She took shelter inside, climbing up to the second floor. These statues might be creepy, but at least they weren't coming to life like the graves--and whatever lay buried in them. |
