What: The Dating Game
Rating/Status: Low
Royal was actually rather pleased when he had landed another acting gig. One that didn’t have him dressing up in drag and looking like Dory Skipjack. Instead, this was for some sort of game show. But the details were left vague. “How lucky we were to get you,” the lavender-hair lady crooned as she had finished Royal’s makeup. “I was worried for a moment that they’d give us someone else. Thank goodness they didn’t. And I will say that you look much better without that ginger wig on.” Royal held back a laugh as he was drug out of the chair so they could get him on stage and ready to go. “It really is a shame that we could only get the two of you, but what can we do?” a guy with light-blue hair admitted as he ushered Royal into a seat. Besides, they had look presentable for their lucky contestant. Especially given the theme of the episode. “Now remember to be openly candid with your answers. No holding back, okay?” he told the both of them. “And remember to smile nice and brightly for everyone at home.” In five, four, three, two, one and the emcee’s voice resonated throughout the air. “Welcome, ladies and gentlemen to a special Hunger Games edition of the Dating Game.” Missy shifted in the less than comfortable stool. She furrowed her brow as she attempted to get comfortable. Though she was lightly smacked for furrowing her when she was supposed to be getting her make-up done. Though she remained silent as the others spoke to Royal. A bit out of character for her she supposed, but she was focusing on what she was going to say. Missy was known for putting her foot in her mouth and she didn’t want to make a fool of herself. Then again hearing the word candid made it painfully obvious that was probably why she was contact for the game show. As the lights went on and the show started Missy beamed brightly and waved her hands as they zoomed in on her. She was her usual bright bubbly self. The host turned to her. “Now please introduce yourself.” Missy smiled brightly. “I’m Missy Tae. Escort for the lovely and fashionable District Eight.” She bounced a bit almost slipping from her seat. And the fact that this was the 50th anniversary of Royal's win was a clear reason as to why they wanted him. Thankfully, his acting abilities made it easy for him to act under pressure, but he was wondering what this person was going to ask. "I am Royal Golden, winner of the 6th games and from DIstrict One," he told the audience since he was certain he was probably a bit too old for the target audience. "Well, it is nice to meet the both of you," the announcer told them. "And now to meet our lucky bachelor. Everyone say hello to Caligua." A round of applause roared throughout the studio and Royal had a gut feeling that maybe he shouldn't have signed up for this show. Oh well, it was too late for that now. Missy looked at Royal as he introduced himself and then turned to look at the audience as the bachelor was introduced. She couldn’t help but flash Royal a smile. Poor guy. From a ladies dress to being the eligible bachelor for a bachelor. But obviously he was bicurious or some sort. Missy didn’t know this fellas business. They announced the start of the game and the bachelor was about to start his questions. “Bachelorette number one.” Missy laughed at the distinction but carried on. “Yes?” She waited in for the question to come her way. “What is your ideal man?” Missy made a hmm noise. “Well, someone who looked like Maalik. Or you know was Maalik. He is so nice you know. Though I suppose someone who can make me laugh might be more important than abs I could eat off.” The last bit slipped out before she could stop it. Her hands went straight to her face horrified. “Balls.” Royal wasn't bicurious to say the least. He thought that this was going to be for some sort of bachelorette. He was obviously wrong. But beggars couldn't be choosers and if anything this would land him some cash. Oh the banes of acting. He listened as Missy gave her answer, knowing that he would have to prepare for the same one. "Bachelor number two, same question," Royal refrained a laugh and decided something that happened in the arena could work to his favor. "Well, definitely not Vellum," Royal admitted but given that Missy had said abs it was best not to be redundant. "I would have to say someone with a wonderful mind and striking eyes. Besides, as they say, the eyes are the windows to your soul." Missy, once recovered her her far too candid moment, clapped in response to Royal’s answer. Missy had her suspicions on whether it was ‘acting’ or genuine. Either way, did it really matter? She prepared herself for the next question. “Number One.” Missy froze unsure what would be thrown at her. “Describe your perfect date.” Missy tilted her head to the side and her eyes looked to the corner and up. What was her perfect date. She struck her thinking pose for some time. “Well,” she started off. “I think a nice dinner with some wine. Maybe dancing.” Missy shrugged her shoulders. Please, internally, that she had not said something as exposing as last time. That was all she needed. In Royal’s mind, he was kind of doing both. Yes, he was being truthful, but he knew the way to wove his words. Though he realized that a bit late so he made a mental note to keep his answers, well more simplistic for now. Instead, he listened to Missy as she described what her ideal perfect date would be. “Number two, same question.” Unfortunately for him, Missy had more or less said what he was going to. “I do agree with the other one. Dinner is a definite must and then maybe nice a walk or sort. I do think socialization is important on a first date.” Missy nodded her head in approval. Though she knew that this now turned back to her. Missy sat there waiting wondering what would come next. “Now Number one.” She realized she was holding her breath. “What would you do to me, if you could?” Missy furrowed her brow. “What? You mean sexually?” She asked hesitantly and it got the crowd laughing. “Yes.” The bachelor had said. “Well I don’t know really. What would you like me to do?” She shrugged her shoulders and made a very confused and unsure face. Make Royal answer that properly. Royal had no clue how to answer that. It had been years since he had slept with a woman since his divorce. And he had never with a man. But he had to think it through as it was a question the Capitol would want to hear. "Number two, same question," Royal's face obviously grimaced. "To be honest. I have no clue. If things got that way I think it would rely on the heat of the moment." And there were no number of sponsor points that'd make him to do just that. "Number one, the games are well underway. So if you had to liken yourself to any tribute, who would it be and why?" “Ooo good question.” The games were well under way it was true. Missy had avidly been watching. “You know I do think I would be more like my dear Ariadne. She is a sweet heart and I think I would fair like she in the games if I was there.” Missy felt satisfied with the answer. "Number two, same question," Royal had been watching the games too. He wasn't fond of Aramis but if he said an outlier, One would never let him live it down. "I would have to say Sephora. Just seeing how she is and knowing what she can do, I would relate to her." "Hmm..." the bachelor contemplated, musing his next question. "Number one...if I was a wax statue of Vellum and you were Aramis, what would you say to me?" Royal just facepalmed. The sooner this show was over, the better. |
