Nikolas always considered himself a fair man, yet when his wife burst into his study earlier that day to announce that their youngest was a monster, he had to agree with her. It was through Michael Corer, that they had received word of what was going on in those blasted journals. Nikolas had known they were a mistake from the moment they first started to be sold. After he spent the better part of the day arguing with Davinia who wanted nothing more than to rid the family of the ungreatful little girl. Nikolas would have none of that. After countless attempts to reach his daughter, Nikolas accompanied by the family's pair of house elves, went to retrieve Astoria.

When Nikolas stepped out of the fireplace, soot dusting his shoulders, the flat appeared to be empty. "Pack her clothes, toiletries, and whatever is needed for a daily basis. The rest of it stays." While the elves hurried off to do their master's bidding, Nikolas went in search of Astoria. The glass door that lead out to the stairwell up was open, allowing the cool spring night breeze to waft through the flat. He hesitated a moment before he pushed through the door and made his way up the wrought iron stairs. As he stepped off the final stair, he was surprised at what he could see b the pale watery light of the moon, potted hedges and flowers of all types made for a peaceful and serene escape from the bustle and noise of a otherwise busy community. She'd really done an amazing job with it. That praise could wait for another day.

For now, his concern was for his daughter and her well being. When he finally spotted the blonde haired girl, she looked defeated. The area around her littered with various bottles, some of which he could make out by shape - wine and whiskey. As for the others, he didn't want to know what they had been. He moved closer, hesitant to scare her as her legs dangled from the edge of the building. Silently, Nikolas drew his wand and cast a spell to stun Astoria and from his vantage point was able to make sure she didn't fall forward and off the building.

Nikolas moved closer to her and soon had her hefted up over his shoulder. As he turned to leave, he kicked at something on the ground, something that was heavier than the bottles and shattered glass that littered the area. Stooping, he came back up with Astoria's journal and chose to take that with him as he apparated back to the Greengrass home. He trusted the elves to take care of Astoria's belongings as well as to make sure the place was cleared of all debris an locked up. She would not be returning anytime soon.

As he entered into the foyer, the limp form of his daughter still over his shoulder, Nikolas was met by Davinia. "Enough woman. She is here, she is going to get her life sorted out. If not, then we will talk again. For now, leave her alone. I left her in your care and you made her into the perfect copy of yourself. Now its up to me to fix your mistakes before she ends up getting us all killed." Without another word, Nikolas breezed past his wife and continued moving up the stairs until he was able to set Astoria down on the newly made bed in her old room. She stirred some as the spell began to wear off, but snored softly as she slept.

With her in bed, Nikolas left the room and returned to his study, the sound of a door slamming from above his head was a signal that Davinia had retired for the evening. Nikolas reached into the folds of his robes and pulled the journal out to inspect the offensive little thing. At his desk, he opened to the first blank page he could find and wrote within. When done, the book was closed and tossed into the bottom drawer of his desk.
