After Astoria closed her journal, she hurried to pack up the meal she had created and took a moment to make sure she didn't look too disheveled. She straightened her dress and soon after left for an evening with her newly unattached fiance. Merlin, it made her laugh to say it like that.

She apparated to the spot outside Draco's building set up for that and entered, her head held high. It felt amazing to not have to sneak around anymore. After this initial trip, she'd make sure that the Floo network was connected so she'd be able to just Floo over instead.

Astoria rode the lift to Draco's floor an stepped out, her heart hammering as she knocked on the door. For the life of her, she couldn't understand why she was so nervous, she'd done this time and again when it was 'their room'.

There wasn't much to do while he waited for Astoria. The apartment was quite sparse, with just a sofa and his bookshelf in the living room, and his bed and clothing in the master bedroom. He was planning on asking Astoria to help him decorate, seeing as she'd probably be spending a lot of time here and had done such a good job with her own place.

Unlike her, he wasn't nervous about anything, and strode to the door confidently when he heard her knock. Without a need to hide behind closed doors, he swept her up into an embrace, right there in the hall, kissing her hello passionately.

"Welcome," he said when he finally released her. "Come on in."

When the door opened, Astoria had not expected to be pulled into an embrace and kissed to the point of swooning. Merlin help her, she nearly dropped the basket she'd filled with food. When Draco broke away, Astoria swayed as she tried to lean in and continue kissing him. She'd missed him, and like every time she found herself seeing him after a long span of time a part, she couldn't get enough of his kisses.

"Well, that was quite the hello." She said with a chuckle as she crossed over the threshold into the flat. Draco hadn't been kidding when he said that there wasn't much in the flat yet. "Being the owner of your own place suits you. You have a look of accomplishment about you."

She was so endearingly sweet, the way she leaned into him. He liked the effect he had on her. It was only fair considering his crazy he was over her. He shut and locked the door behind them, and led her to kitchen, which was fully stocked with cutlery, glasses and a muggle refrigerator, which he had been a bit apprehensive about at first, but could recognise the usefulness of.

"You can help me decorate it, another day," he said, opening the fridge to retrieve the wine he'd had chilling. "Wine?"

Astoria followed at Draco's side as he walked her through the place, giving her a brief tour of their surroundings. "Are you sure you want me to decorate? You're not afraid I'll make it too girly for you?" Astoria asked, teasing as she set the basket down and began to pull out the contents.

"You know me so well." She said in answer to his question of wine. She looked up Draco and smiled. "Okay so, we have a spinach and strawberry salad with poppy seed dressing, you will have to trust me when I say its delicious and a perfect spring and summer salad. As a main dish, there's lemon pepper chicken over rice. Had I known I'd be sharing, I would have made it look nicer, or made a side to go with it."

	He gave her a wink as he took down two wine glasses and poured for them both. He set one on the counter beside where she was currently serving up, and leaning in close to look over his shoulder. 	With Draco behind her, Astoria took a moment to lean back into him so she could lift her head and give him a kiss on the cheek. "You're too kind." With a sigh, she straightened and picked up the plate to hand to him. "We should eat before it gets cold. Chicken gets too dry when heating charms are placed on it." Kind wasn't often a word people used to describe Draco, but he liked hearing it from her. In fact, he like most things about her, which was why he sort of wanted to skip the eating part and get right down to the christening of his new place. However, he had a feeling she would shut him down in favour of the food, so he took his plate and followed her to the sofa.

It only took one mouthful for him to know that he wanted to eat this again. With a wife like Astoria, he wouldn't need to try and pilfer house elves from the manor to cook for him. It never ceased to amaze him, how perfect she was for him.

"This is amazing!" he said, thoughts firmly on his meal and off her for the time being.

Astoria beamed at the compliment to her cooking. She wasn't good at many things, but food was her specialty. When she took her first bite, she had to agree with Draco. It was pretty amazing. "Why thank you. Its the first thing I've made in my new place. I can't get used to saying that. I never thought I'd actually live on my own."

As they ate, Astoria let her eyes wander the room as if to picture it all put together in a style that Draco would like. He said he' let her decorate, but that didn't mean she wanted to over power him with the girly touches. "Do you have any idea on what you'd like done in this room?"

Draco chewed another mouthful and swallowed before he looked around. He didn't really have much idea of what he wanted, but he supposed the basic where a necessity.

"A kitchen table over there, maybe a couple of bar stool, for eating at the counter," he said gesturing towards the kitchen. "Over here, a few more chairs. A coffee table and a rug or something to break up the echo." He looked towards his bookshelf. "And a lamp, for reading."

"Really? You just want to go the boring route with things? I see a swing over there." Astoria said, gesturing with her fork. "And maybe some giant splashes of color over there." In all actuality, she was joking. She just wanted to see what his reaction would be. "Maybe some blue walls and a white shaggy carpet?"

Astoria chuckled as she set her plate down and took a sip of wine. "And bright orange curtains to contrast with the blue walls. What do you think?"

	He sighed in relief and sat back into the black sofa they were sitting on. He didn't know much about interior design, but he though the whilte walls and black couch looked alright with the natural tan colour of the floor boards. Astoria sat back, her food momentarily forgotten as she scooted in close to Draco and kissed the corner of his mouth. "I'm not saying stain them black. Maybe its just me, but I'd go with maybe a nice silver-ish gray stain. It's end up being monochrome, but at least then you could do whatever you wanted as far as color goes and nothing would clash. But, this is your place and with it being your place, whatever you want to do is what gets done."

	He could live with silver-grey. It was a nice colour, though he still wasn't convinced that a change was completely necessary. "Maybe I'll just wait and see what it looks like when everything is in here. It might not need it," he suggested. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

"You shouldn't say I get to decorate if you already have something in mind. This just means, we'll have to go together to pick things out." She liked the idea of doing that, considering they hadn't been able to be open about their relationship since they returned from Puerto Rico and they hadn't been all that open or sure of what their relationship was then either.

Astoria moved away from Draco so she could reach her glass and took a sip. "So, you have a bookshelf, I don't think I ever pegged you for much of a reader. Not that I should be surprised, you were always the best student in Slytherin. What sort of material do you like to read?"

Draco just shrugged. He was genuinely interested in her opinions and getting her help, even if he did have a couple of his own idea. Still, there was the second bedroom that he didn't have a clue what to do with, so he supposed he could make up for it by letting her decorate.

He glanced at his bookshelf again, which only had a handful of the collection he intended to bring with him from the manor. He would go and collect the rest at a later date.

"Anything, really," he said, shrugging again. "Though I have a soft spot for wizarding history."

"Any era in particular?" Astoria liked the world thinking she was on the bubbleheaded side, something that she slipped on periodically when she had something important to talk about. The same thing could be said about what she read. There was poetry, gossip magazines, and trashy romance novels. However, she also had a passion for the more intelligent side of literature. Her favorites, anything that dated back to the time of the founders era. She always wondered what it would be like, to live back in their time.

Astoria pushed herself to her feet, the glass in hand as she wandered over to the bookshelf to look at the few books that currently rested there. "I read this one." She said, some what distracted, as she ran a finger along the spine of the book."

	Draco preferred the Victorian era, as a general rule. From most of the stuff he read, it was that sort of era and traditions that he respected the most. He followed her to the shelf, standing close and looking over her shoulder. "I like that one, but this one," he said, reaching across to pull down his favourite, "is my favourite." 	One of the rare wizarding titles that wasn't completely self-explanatory, Trial by Fire was a book that Draco had found by reading the footnotes and bibliography of another writer's work. 	"Since its your favorite, I didn't want to just take." She whispered in return, as she reached behind her to put the book on a lower shelf. 	When she was with him, kissing him like that, it was hard to remember all the misgivings about rushing things he seemed to have when she wasn't around.
