Who: Ron and Hermione
When: 5th March
Where: Their secret location
What: Setting up wards for the night
Rating: PG
Status: In progress

"Did you remember to strengthen our defences with Cave Inimicum?" Hermione approached Ron with a worried look on her face. It wasn't that she didn't trust Ron to set the defences around their camp site - she knew he was quite capable of doing so - she just always second guessed herself. After all, their mission was one of great importance, there were no second chances if any of them stuffed up.

She moved beside him, casting a critical eye over the invisible wards surrounding their camp. "What about the Muggle-Repelling Charm? Did you remember that?" The bushy haired witch then looked up to her much taller best friend, the worry on her face melting slightly and replaced with an apologetic look. "Sorry, I'm just... worried." Hermione knew Ron was getting better at telling her emotions but it was easier on both of them if she was just upfront about what she was feeling. Less fights that way.

Turning as he heard Hermione's voice, Ron nodded in response to the question, attention back on finishing the wards as soon as he had acknowledged her. He knew the tone of his friend's voice well enough to know that she was worried, not just being a busy body, so when she asked her second and third questions, he just nodded again.

A little crooked grin appeared on his face as she looked up at him and he slipped his wand back up his sleeve. 'It's okay. I thought so.' Reaching out he took her hand and gave it a light squeeze. 'We're all worried. Especially with what the Order are planning this week at Gringotts.' Searching the bank would be difficult and dangerous, the other side had spies everywhere.

Ron's nodding did little to ease her worry but that was probably because she had so much to worry about. Never did Hermione think when she was offered a place in the wizarding world that she would be faced with a war. But she wouldn't have said no to the opportunity had she had her time over and knew what she knew now. The squeeze of her hand, however, did bring her comfort and she squeeze back gently in gratitude.

Hermione offered Ron a small smile, knowing he was probably thinking about the family he had working for Gringotts. "Bill and Fleur will be alright. They are both very capable with handling themselves." She knew there was still the chance they wouldn't be but she had to have faith, even just for Ron's sake. "That is, as long as there are no Grindylows for Fleur to battle." Hermione tried to joke, recalling the terrible time Fleur had with the second task during the Tri-Wizard Tournament.

Smiling as he felt Hermione squeeze his hand in return, he moved away from the edge of the wards, turning instead to look back at their tent. Ron's attention was drawn back to his friend as she spoke and he sighed, nodding again. He seemed to do that a lot, especially when one of their company was resting, as Harry was now. Living under canvas had made him a lot more considerate.

'I know, but I still worry about them, all of them.' Ron wasn't naive, he knew Fred, George, Ginny, Bill, Charlie and his parents were all putting their lives on the line for the Order. Along with many of their friends; while he felt relatively useless, hiding out, moving from place to place and chasing fairy tales to find out about missing Horcruxes. The red head smiled at the little joke, 'yeah, she'd have a problem with them if they decided to show up.'

"I worry about them too." Hermione admitted easily, turning her head and following Ron's line of sight toward the tent. She knew it was tough on them but it was doubly so on Harry as he was who Voldemort had targeted. But Hermione had to believe in their mission and that they were doing the right thing - even though at the moment they appeared to have no sense of direction.

Her eyes turned back to her friend and she returned the smile. "Come on. Let's get something to eat and then I want to go over my notes on Rowena Ravenclaw." Hermione knew research was probably the last thing Ron wanted to do but with nothing else to go on, they had to do something that may generate a lead of some sort.
