Who: Megan Jones and Justin Finch-Fletchley
Where: Justin's flat
When: Monday afternoon
What: Plotting to make over Justin's place
Rating: PG

Megan was beyond excited at her new project. She'd been surprised to see Justin give in so quickly, but then she supposed that she had been dropping hints for months now. Practically since he'd gotten the place. Oh he'd let her do some touches, colour schemes, but until now he hadn't actually let her decorate the whole place. The moment that he'd agreed, however, Megan had been on the phone to his mother. She knew that Marianne would be overjoyed that Megan was finally getting to tackle the project, considering what they both thought of the state of his place. Before going to meet Justin for lunch, Megan met briefly with his mother, getting some ideas from her as well as her charge card so they could get this project under way.

Exiting Selfridges on Oxford Street a few hours later, Megan quickly made her way along the pavement to where she'd agreed to meet Geoffrey. Getting into the car, she settled into the back seat before she typed out a message to Justin:

J - on my way; be there in 15
- M

Sending, Megan placed her things next to her as Geoffrey navigated his way through early afternoon London traffic. Pulling out some of the samples, she reconsidered the colours trying to picture Justin's bedsit in her head. Finally pulling up in front of Justin's building, Megan thanked her driver and grabbed her things. She exited the car and walked quickly to the front of the building, before hurrying inside. She walked up the flights of stairs until she reached his door on the uppermost floor. Using her newly attained key, Megan pushed the door open and dragged her things inside.

"Justin, help me with this."

Justin had gotten Megan's text and checked the time. Megan certainly seemed pleased to finally get her hands on his place. He was well aware that both she and his mother had been dying to redo his place.

Frankly, Justin didn't really see what was wrong with it. Yes, it was small and in a completely different part of town than they were used to. He thought he had done quite well by searching the charity shops in the area. Apparently, he was the only one impressed by his efforts. Justin didn't mind his place but it would give Megan a project that would make everyone happy and had the added benefit of distracting her from Dustin.

Hearing Megan call, he got up quickly to help her get everything inside. "This is a lot of stuff Megs," he said leaning in to kiss her cheek. "Are you sure you need all of this?" he asked with a chuckle. "It's not that big."

"It's not that much." Megan commented, holding out her cheek so Justin could greet, her. Despite having had lunch earlier in the day she still smiled, pleased to see him. Megan laughed and rolled her eyes at Justin's comment.

"And it's mostly just samples ad a few design books." Megan said, nodding her head at one of the carrier bags full of publications and books. Granted, she couldn't very well perform miracles on the place, but then again it wasn't like she'd had much of a chance to try out any of the spells she'd seen the designers use. Taking the bags further into the place she moved toward the sofa where she was going to set up shop. "There's a bottle of red in that one, could you be a dear and get us some glasses?" Megan asked turning to Justin and giving him a smile as she pointed at one of the bags he was carrying.

"It feels like quite a lot," Justin teased her as he brought everything inside. He watched her head over to the sofa and smiled. "Just move everything over to give you room." Some of his books were there as well but she was going to need much more room than he would.

"I can certainly do that," Justin said. "Is it so bad in here that we have to start by drinking?" He was teasing of course. He knew all too well what she thought. Justin pulled the bottle of red wine out of the bag and pulled down two glasses. Opening the bottle with his wand because it was simply easier, Justin poured two generous glasses of red wine for them. He brought them over to the sofa and sat next to her offering her a glass. "So what have you decided, Megs? And no, moving isn't an option."

"You're just saying that because you haven't given your place much thought." Megan retorted, shaking her head as she placed her things down on the floor before gingerly moving his thing to the side, glancing briefly at the covers.

"Yes, it is that bad." Mega retorted giving her best friend a look before placing her hands on her hips and glancing around the room, properly this time. She turned slowly examining the room, inch by inch. By the time he returned with a glass, she sat back on the sofa and took the glass in hand, crossing her legs. She scooted in closer, rested her head against his shoulder as she took her first sip.

"Well, I was thinking, pink. Neon, with black accents."

"I have give it thought!" Justin protested. "I went to six charity shops before I found that sofa."

Before he could say anything to defend himself, Justin couldn't help but smile when Megan put her head on his shoulder. It was useless not to melt a little when she did that. Then she gave her thoughts on color causing him to choke a bit on his wine.

"Absolutely not! No way. No pink."

"I know. I remember. I also remember having to try at least five different spells on it before I could actually consider sitting down on it!"

Smiling to herself as she settled next to him, she considered briefly sliding her arms around him, but chose to cling to her glass instead. When he then protested to her colour choices, Megan bt her lip and looked away so her couldn't see the smile on her face.

"Oh, just picture it now, darling!" Megan said, sitting up properly and scooting to the edge of the sofa as she waived her free hand in the air. "A gorgeous accent wall right there, with amazing, bright, bold colours across the room. It'll look amazing with just the right furniture and a stunning mural across that wall. Then the furniture, modern, glossy in jet black to accent the walls, and we can do your bed in silk." Megan explained, standing up now and pointing as she spoke, pointing behind them at the alcove with his bed not quite looking at him yet. She then turned back to the main living space. "We can have efficient storage to make the best of the space, and a matching upgraded kitchen. It'll be absolutely stunning. Just the sort of place I've always fancied." Megan added as she whirled around to look at him.

"Yes I remember. It was a bit dramatic, love."

Justin listened as Megan rambled on excitedly about the sort of place that she would love to design for him. There was a part of him that thought that she was taking the piss but there was a tiny part that wasn't completely sure. He watched her pointing around his flat. "Modern glossy furniture? Silk bed clothes?" Justin asked. "You moving in, Megs?" She was going to be the death of him.

"Not the way it is right now, no." Megan said with a shake of her head and s small frown. "Anyway, you wouldn't want me to cramp your style." Megan said, pausing briefly as her eyes looked off toward the bed again, the barest of blush tinting her cheeks.

"Oh all very well." Heaving a dramatic sigh, Megan turned and allowed herself to drop back onto his sofa without managing to spill a drop. Crossing her legs, Megan rested her glass on her knees. "I suppose I can do blue. Will you let me have bold colour choices and modern lines at least?" She asked, glancing over at hi, before lifting the glass to her lips.

Justin opened his mouth to protest which died on his lips. He sighed. "You wouldn't ever want to live here," he retorted instead which he also believed to be true.

"You can," Justin conceded, taking a sip. "As long as the chairs and sofa are comfortable and it's not too dark in here."

"No, not until you fix a few things, but that's okay, I'll do it." Megan said with a nod as she lightly patted his leg. She took another sip from her class. "It won't be, I promise." Megan said with serious nod before taking another sip from her glass. "Though now that I have a general direction in regard to colour, I can start thinking about walls. I think we should really start there and then deal with the details after." Megan added as she leaned down to rescue a book from one of her bag. "Might be a bit hard to get this all done by the weekend..."

"Thank you," Justin said of not ending up too dark in the flat. He smiled at her as she reached down to get a book. "It's fine if you end up taking longer than a week. You have a key. You can come and go as you please. I know you will want to go over every detail." He reached for a book and left it to rest on the arm of his sofa. "What sort of blue are you thinking?"

"I might. I just want to get the painting done earlier, that should be the easier bit." Megan conceded, as she uncrossed her legs and rested her book on her knees. Taking another sip from her glass she started flipping the pages, scanning the pictures as she went. "I'm not sure yet." Megan said in response to his question. "Something bright and colourful to make this room look lighter, less bland."

"I can see that. It will be the most work and have the biggest immediate impact" Justin said. He gulped slightly as he watched Megan cross her legs before turning his head to hide his blush. "Well I'm sure it will look great. You are very talented."

"Exactly, and then it won't interrupt you with your schoolwork." Megan added before taking another sip from her glass. She flipped a few more pages, trying to see if there was anything that caught her eyes. At Justin's next words, she glanced over and smiled. "Thanks, Justin. That's really sweet of you to say." Then tossing the book aside she bent over to retrieve more items, a few colour samples she'd selected. Of course, she'd already been planning blue that afternoon, so the booklets were geared around that colour choice, and she leaned back against the sofa. "How are these shades?" She mussed, holding it up, before picking up another one. "Or these? I think the more blue will look better, but the more green influenced are also quite nice, soothing. Maybe something in between?" Megan said as she took another sip and glanced toward the walls. It wasn't going to be that easy. "Maybe smurf blue."

"It's true."

Justin took the color samples from Megan and spend a long time looking them over. It seemed really important to her and so he took the color selection seriously. "Not smurf blue..." Justin murmured as he looked between the cards deciding on a color. He got a big grin on his face as he had made a decision. "Galactic blue" he said. "I like that one. What do you think?"

As Justin considered the colours, Megan observed him. He wasn't making fun of her, and hadn't pushed the pallets away, which was definitely a good sign that he was taking this, and her, seriously. Leaning toward him, she rested her hand on his leg as he made his decision and glanced at the colours again.

"I like it." Megan said, nodding in approval. "Just a slight hint of green and light enough on the walls that it'll not be too overbearing." Megan smiled at him and leaned in to brush her lips against his cheek. "Cheers, darling, it means a lot to me that you're letting me do this."

"I'm glad you approve" Justin smiled, swallowing hard at the feel of her hand on his thigh. Why did she have to do that? It always short circuited his brain. Not that he would have asked her to move her hand for anything in the world.

"Well, I wouldn't trust anyone else to touch my flat so thank you for taking on the project."

"You do have good taste, darling, when you actually think about things for more than a moment or two." Megan admitted, patting his leg lightly as she gave him another smile. "Anyway, glad that's settled, it'll give me a base from which to work with, and then I can see about coming back tomorrow maybe to get started on the painting." Pausing, Megan smiled at him. "You will help, won't you?"

"Thanks, I think" Justin replied not sure if it was a complement. "Yes, I will help you. You shouldn't have to do it all by yourself."
