Lilly had never been one who paid a lot of attention in school even when she had done it the first time around. It just never seemed that important. Now with her shiny new lease on life it seemed important but the attention span was still crap. Math was just so... mathy. Added to that the fact she'd stayed up all night watching Veronica Mars she was not a happy camper at school. She had barely managed to make it through the rest of the class after talking with Heather and when the bell rang she nearly jumped a foot, having almost nodded off.
She stuffed her books into her messenger bag and pulled it over her shoulder before heading out of the room and getting lost in the crowd. High school this time around was vastly different. Sure she'd made a few friends she guessed, but the people here were so weird, like little pod people. There was no pep squad, there were no 09'ers, no Pirate Points, nothing that had made up her first school experience. It was kind of nice though she had decided. She could just be Lilly. Not Lilly Kane daughter of software billionaire Jake Kane, she had nothing to live up to her. She was just her.
Lilly slipped past a few people and darted out the back doors to wait for Heather. Heather was the kind of girl Lilly wouldn't have dared to even think of hanging out with back in Neptune, hell Heather was the kind of girl who Lilly would have made her life a living hell back in Neptune. But Lilly was trying to be a better person this go around, she didn't want to be a bitch, she didn't want to be vapid and shallow, all it had done in the end was get her killed. And Heather she found out, was actually really awesome.
