Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
WHO: Claire & Mag.
WHAT: Taking a walk.
WHEN: Tonight.
WHERE: Around the city.
RATING: TBD.
STATUS: Incomplete.

Claire was tired of sitting around in her room, thinking about the same things over and over again. Steve was dead, and even though this place seemed to bring people who had died back to life, Claire wasn't holding her breath. She didn't even know if it would be a good idea for Steve to come back after what had happened. That wasn't necessarily what the issue was, though. She wanted to know what had happened to his body. He'd been injected with the virus at some point, and she knew that was valuable to anyone involved. They wouldn't have just let him be incinerated when the island blew up, and she'd heard through the grapevine that Wesker had taken Steve and placed him somewhere for experimental purposes. Wesker was here in Colligo, but Claire knew he wasn't going to give up any information easily. She'd even approached him about it, had offered to move in with him, and the whole thing made her sick. Wesker had tried to kill her brother Chris numerous times, and he was her sworn enemy, as well. He'd had a hand in all of the zombie outbreaks, he'd been the cause of thousands of deaths. How could she even consider such a thing, for a piece of information that he would probably lie about anyway?

She needed to get out, to get her mind off of things, even if that meant just going for a short walk. She didn't necessarily want to be alone, though, especially since Wesker was apparently stalking her as well, so she had no problem inviting Mag to go along with her. She waited just outside the building for the other girl, sitting on the steps.

If there was one thing Mag understood fully and completely it was that surviving the apocalypse was a suckish experience. She also knew that it was awesome to be somewhere as paradisey as Colligo, and that it was kind of horrible when the people that brought about the apocalypse showed up too. Not many other people understood what that was like. Claire, however, was in a surprisingly similar boat. Mag figured that's why she liked Claire so much - it was a good match. She felt like Claire got her. So when she'd asked her to go for a walk with her, Mag had been more than happy to.

She'd tied her shoelaces haphazardly before she exited the building. She only had a rough idea of where Claire was, but from her network posts it didn't seem like the situation was particularly pressing, so she walked at a leisurely pace. She might never get used to the calm in this city. It had been so long since she'd gotten away from the constant fear of death that this reprieve seemed unreal. Mag spotted Claire just outside their building and waved, moving over to sit down next to her.

"You good?" She asked. Her curiosity was killing her, because she was pretty sure something was up, but she didn't want to press it either.

Claire didn't have to necessarily force a smile when Mag approached her, but she knew the expression looked pretty pathetic all the same. Still, she didn't want to let her inner demons come out and bring the other woman down at the same time, so she was going to try and be good company. Pleasant, at the very least.

"Ah, yeah. Yeah, I'm good," she replied, nodding a little too quickly to be sincere. "Just...you know. I don't really like being cooped up all the time. Figured it would be a good idea to try and get out for a little while."

It wasn't that Claire was all that secretive about what she was going through, since anyone could just go and get the game she was from or look Resident Evil up on the internet and they could find out, but to volunteer that information out of the blue wasn't really something she would do unless it was necessary.

"Good. That's good." Mag said awkwardly, stretching her legs as she sat there. She had always been a little awkward socially, and she supposed the isolation and mistrust hadn't really helped a lot with that. "I like the outdoors here. The weather is so nice. It was always so hot in Los Angeles." She added, kind of embarrassed that she was actually discussing the weather. Of all the things she was, she never thought she would be boring. She needed to remedy that.

"Come on, let's go to the park or something." She suggested, standing up and jamming her hands in her pockets, suddenly full of energy. She wanted to go do something interesting. Have an adventure.

Claire honestly didn't mind talking about the weather. As long as she didn't have to think about the person she was just starting to have feelings for being dead and used like an experimental lab rat afterwards, it was fine with her.

"I kind of traveled all over back home," she replied as the two of them started heading off in the direction of the park that was located nearby. "But I stuck around the midwest, so it wasn't really too hot or too cold there." She paused, laughing a little before she realized what she was saying. "I was in Antarctica for a while, though. That was pretty extreme."

It was also where Steve -- stop it, Claire. Just stop.
