WHO: Violet and OPEN
WHAT: Arrival at Colligo.
WHEN: {Backdated} Right after this.
WHERE: Outside the Grand Library
RATING: TBD
STATUS: In Progress

One minute, Violet had been skipping out school early to answer a distress call across town and the next she'd found herself in a large library with books that were blank and knights that didn't seem to have anything inside of them yet had no problem picking her up and depositing her outside the said library with nothing but her backpack and a PDA. For a girl who spent her spare time fighting villains with the rest of her superhero family, she was used to strange things happening on an almost daily basis. This, however, was not even close to the same area of strange that she was used to. And unfortunately after a few minutes spent exchanging comments with strangers over a message board, things weren't looking any better.

So it really would have come as no surprise to anyone that knew the girl that her first course of action when faced with such a bizarre situation was to hide. Well, it might have come as a bit of a shock considering how far she'd come with being comfortable in her own skin in the past year, but that was in a world that she knew and that was filled with people who loved and accepted her. Here, she had none of that. So while it might not say much for her growth as a person as of late, her first reaction was still to hide and, if there was one thing that Violet Parr did well, it was hide.

Stripping out of the outfit she'd worn to school so she was clad only in her specially designed superhero costume, Violet found a gathering of bushes and shoved her bookbag (with her 'normal' clothes now zipped up safely inside) in the brush. Then, with a quick glance around, she made her way to another gathering of bushes and quickly turned invisible as she ducked behind them.

As she sat in the dirt, knees hugged tight against her chest, she thought about what she'd been told over the PDA. This wasn't Earth. This wasn't even her reality. She couldn't get home, and her parents couldn't get here. It was like some sort of horrible nightmare and... why was she hearing beeping?

Eyes wide, the invisible girl peered around until she realized, with dawning horror, that it was her bookbag that was making the noise. Or, rather, the PDA that she'd foolishly forgotten to turn off before sticking it inside her bookbag. Twisting onto her knees, she crawled across the dirt - still taking care to keep herself invisible - to where she'd hidden her belongings. However just as her hand reached out and was about to snag the bag to her, someone stepped up alongside her.

Softly sucking in a breath, Violet immediately went still and slowly turned her gaze upward to peer at the newcomer. They can't see me, her mind instantly assured her. They might be able to see the bag but they can't see me. At least, she thought they couldn't see her. Knowing her luck, it was someone that could see past her invisibility. Granted she'd never encountered anyone capable of such a thing before but she'd also never woken up on a strange planet before either, so anything was possible.

Not taking any chances though, she remained as still as she could and silently hoped that the person would lose interest and go away.

People here didn't like him. He wasn't too young to misunderstand that. And they lied about it to him. Tom kicked at a rock on the curb and frowned when it skipped off the pavement onto the road. Slowly, the rock jerked and tossed before rolling back to his feet where it started.

He didn't care that no one wanted to play with him. No one ever wanted to be near him. He heard what the older boys had called him in the orphanage. And if he ever got back they'd be sorry they ever called him an odd little freak. He wasn't odd. He was special.

Everyone here who weren't nice to him knew it too. They were all jealous and stupid.

As was the stupid girl hiding in the bushes. He'd seen her. She hadn't tried very hard. But she could do special things too.

And then her bag began to beep.

Tom stopped by the steps of the library and scowled directly at the bushes. "I know you're in there."

At the sound of the voice, Violet's eyes widened and her head snapped up. He sounded young and a quick glance confirmed that, yes, he was just a child. A very... sullen looking child, but still just a boy.

Slowly she rose to her feet and then made herself visible once more. Her eyes were locked on him, her entire demeanor clearly wary even if he was young looking. She knew better than to trust someone based solely on their appearances.

"Shouldn't you be in school or something?" she asked, first and foremost. Immediately she regretted the question - or at least the way she'd asked it. She sounded defensive. She was defensive. But she hadn't meant to sound that way.

Frowning slightly, she dropped to a crouch and pulled her PDA from her bag. Once it was powered off so it would stop beeping, she stuffed it back inside and rose once more, slinging the backpack over her shoulder before looking back at the kid.

"Did you get brought here against your will, too?" There. That sounded better. Evenly toned. Curious but not too nosey. Just making conversation with the kid who looked like he'd been sucking on lemons for lunch, or something.
