Who: Arthur and Morgana
What: Morgana says they need to talk. Arthur is plotting his grand escape
When: After this
Where: Arthur's room
Rating: TBD
Status: Incomplete

Arthur contemplated his chances of survival should he 'accidentally' fall out his open window in a bid for freedom and deemed them too low to test. He took a moment to be grateful for Tobias' absence, mostly because he didn't very much care for the other boy, nor did he want to spend the time explaining why a very pretty woman was about to barge into their rooms and start shouting at him over things that Were. Not. His. Fault.

Morgana liked to think that she was in a calmer mood than the one she knew Arthur was expecting. She would bet anything that he considered she was livid over Gwen kissing him and at any other situation, she would have teased him about. Telling him something about he and Gwen now needing a chaperon, preferably her and Merlin both. Truth be told, she still might. Someone had to give Arthur a difficult time. And it was fun. However, that would be for later. Now, she wanted to talk to him. Feel out his intentions and emotions. Because Morgana knew, despite what Gwen felt and Arthur would deny, there were emotions there. New and budding but very much there.

She also wanted to thank him for coming on time and protecting her best friend. She'd seen it happen, as she was wont to do with minimal information on location, and other helpful detail that would have caused her to panic less and have less fear. Such as Arthur rescuing Gwen. She hadn't seen that and for that she was greatful. She seemed to have acquired the bad habit of missing the other woman. And that day had been no different.

Her thanks came from a very sincere place. Though she wouldn't be herself if she didn't enjoy the shock she knew it would bring.

That was it. No harsh words or false accusations, just curiousity, concern (in his part as much as Gwen's), and thanks. Nothing else. Her mind was completely focused on Guinevere, and all the situations that seemed to be upsetting her best friend.

Morgana walked purposefully to Arthur's apartment, knocking on his door sharply and pushing in when he opened it. Though she wasn't wearing the long dresses that she was accustomed to, she still managed to sweep into the room.

"Morgana." Arthur bowed shortly from the waist, not even bothering to lower his eyes, or head for that matter. Her outward calm worried him. She was never calm when it came to him. She was either teasing, or poking, or damn it anyhow, shouting at him endlessly.

But she was never calm around him. "You look...well."

He shut the door with a quiet snick and locked it behind him.

It was easy to see right away how uncomfortable he was and nothing in her, despite her concern and the situation, could stop her from hiding her smirk. She knew how to have control over her emotions and could easy act one way while feeling another; however, there was no need to. And really? She couldn't think of a moment when she had ever passed up smirking at Arthur when it was deserved. And the worry she was feeling, well, it deserved a smirk.

She inclined her head towards him, "As do you, Arthur." And he did. Which was a relief. She knew he'd rally and deal with this fine, once he got over his pouting and brooding. Still didn't mean she didn't care about him ... and that ever long process of his sulking. After a beat, she said. "I'm not here to eviscerate if that's what you're worried about." She said casually, as she walked further into the room. Her attention taking it in. It was neater than she had expected, and it looked just like hers. Though hers was neater still. Her tone the way one might airly state that they wanted a hem swen in.

"I wasn't worried about that." Just...concerned. Arthur picked up the glass of water he'd been sipping prior to her arrival and drained it. "What do you want, Morgana?"

"Of course you weren't." She said as she walked further into the room. She didn't waste any time in stating what needs to be said. "What are your current intentions towards Gwen?" That was what she wanted to know, she'd never been one to flower things up and drag things out.

The question asked Morgana turned to face him.

Had Arthur not have swallowed the liquid in his mouth, it likely would have come out his nose at the question. Luckily, he had, so it wasn't an issue. What was an issue was Morgana's question.

It was nice to know Guinevere and Morgana were as close as ever, but he truly did not need to know what Gwen had told her.

"Why do you ask?"

Morgana would never tell Arthur what had been discussed between herself and Guinevere. She would never do that to her friend; however, there were plenty of ways to discover what Arthur felt without revealing any of Gwen's emotions.

"Because she's my best friend Arthur." She said, she would have thought it was obvious. "I know that you end up marrying her in the future but I know just as well as anyone that as imminent as the future is, it's hardly now." She knew that better than anyone. "Anything could change it." This place could change it. "I want to know what you plan on doing about your feelings for her. I want to know what exactly those feelings are. I want you to know that I care for you and I know that you would never do anything to impugn on her honor or deliberately hurt her. However, I also know how oblivious you can be about your emotions towards those you care about. And I feel that you should know that if you string her along while you take the time to figure it out, I will hurt you."

"I'm not stringing her on, or whatever you think I'm doing. I think a little gratitude for saving her from..." Arthur's lips curled in a look of instant disgust. "I don't want to hurt her, Morgana. I would never do that. You have my word."

"I didn't say you were. I said that you would, that you could." She gave him a small frown, before her expression darkened at the mention of Gwen being attacked. She looked away, slightly, for a moment. She hadn't been able to find her, and for a moment she'd thought the worse had happened to Guinevere. She hadn't even thought to use the device. If Arthur hadn't found her ... "Thank you. I am grateful. You saved her from death or a fate worse than it. Of course, I'm grateful." She forced her mind to calm, and she looked back at him. "Thank you." She repeated. Morgana would keep an eye out for both of them, because that was what she did. While Arthur was more likely to hurt Gwen, she didn't want anything happening to him either. They would be magnificent together, they could be. And they were the two people she loved most in the world. Arthur, despite his tendency to be oblivious and dance around his emotions .. his concern for those closest to him, would make an active effort not to hurt Gwen; Morgana trusted in his word. And that was quite alright. For now.

She paused a beat before asking. "Aren't you going to offer me something to drink? Your manners are deplorable, Arthur."
