WHO: Harry Potter and Ron Weasley
WHAT: Flying over Colligo, with brooms! Yeah, you read right. Epic best friendness?
WHEN: Monday, 10th, early afternoon.
WHERE: The apartments, then the skies and stuff.
RATING: PG-13 for Ron's mouth and Harry's inability to correct it.
STATUS: Closed/In progress.

It'd been a long past few weeks for Harry Potter. Older best friends, mothers coming back from the dead, Sirius and Remus snogging, finding out he was fictional, two full moons, Sirius trying to snog Remus whilst Remus was trying to read, meeting Merlin, finding out Snape wasn't evil, finding out about and being scarred by Snape's sense of humor, being scarred by Sirius and Remus, trying to figure out how to talk to his mother, his crush on Willow, and so many other things. He justw and to unwind. Maybe play Quidditch. Or even just go flying on his really great new broom. He hadn't had a chance to try it out yet. Barely enough time.

However, Harry was finding himself with a lot of time at the moment. He hadn't quite managed to convince himself to walk towards his mother's apartment and talk to her, despite Jim's really good advice, even though he really wanted to. And he just ... he knew he could do it over the PDA but he just wanted to see her. Just, he couldn't at the moment. Flying would help with that. It helped with a lot of things. Sirius and Remus were ... he didn't even want to know and he made a mental note to tell Sirius to just move in already. Harry Potter's schedule was currently very clear and his mind was going on the person who'd always be up for flying.

One of his bestest mates in the world. One Ronald Weasley. They hadn't spent as much time just being them at his party, something three years age difference couldn't change, so Harry decided to remedy that. Leaving a note, for Remus, Sirius, ... and his mother, if you know she decided to come find him, or all three. Harry grabbed his new broom and he was out of the apartment, heading towards Ron's.

Hershey's chocolate was amazing. There were a lot of things about the Muggle world that greatly confused and frustrated one Ronald Weasley all at the same time. The food, however, was delicious. He had spent most of his time here thus far sampling his way through as much of it as possible. Surely, yeah, Ron didn't have enough money to purchase everything, but he had managed to impress some of the locals with a bit of magic. It was enough to get them to feed him. Turning water into wine for a group of overly enthused men had been quality performance in exchange for snacks. Of course, Ron was pretty sure that his wine was actually vinegar because he was rubbish with the wandwork, but whatever. He got his food, didn't he? They had been convinced. Everyone would be happy until, you know, they tried to actually drink what he gave them. Hopefully Ron would be long since gone when they did.

But seriously? The chocolate was amazing. Ron loved the chocolate. He was already particular fond of the gummiworms and chocolate covered raisins. But the Hersheys had been decidedly undefeated. For now. He'd have to experiment a bit more with the other stuff in his pile of junk.

With the candy bar hanging halfway from his mouth, teeth having sunk into the corner of it, Ron bolted up from the couch to answer the door as soon as he heard someone knocking. He looked faintly surprised to see Harry on the other side - younger Harry, mind you - but the pleased expression that quickly followed the registered shock was hard to miss. "Harry! What're you - oh, right!" He spotted the broom. It was only then that Ron remembered that there had been talk of flying. "Well, c'mon in then, will you? Grab a snack or something while I get my stuff."

Harry had a slightly nervous expression on his face while he had waited for Ron to open the door. Just because he thought age didn't matter didn't mean that Ron did, and there had been a slight lowering of his stomach-okay, more than slight but he was fourteen stuff such as that and hurt feelings weren't talked much about-when he noticed the shocked look on Ron's face. A feeling that was dashed as quickly as it'd come with his own grin that he returned towards his best friend, one that widened as he took Ron. A fond sort of chuckle released through Harry's lips and he did as he was told, entering the apartment and inspecting the rather impressive pile of sweets and other junk. A bunch of stuff he had never heard of, might have been only American but a lot of the other stuff were things Dudley had liked to taunt him with over never having before stuffing his face with them.

Harry of course went of the chocolate, taking a bar of Hershey's and a bag of M & M's. Eyeing the M & M's and their multi-colors as if he expected them to start dancing or proclaiming their different flavors Harry opened the bag and popped one in his mouth had a strange feeling of pleasure and disappointment when he discovered it was chocolate and peanuts. Not Bernie's Botts but still very, very good. Though he did wonder what was the point of the odd colours. Twisting the bag closed, he placed the rest in his pocket. All for enjoying the Hershey's. He'd lucked out and once had a semi-stale bar when he was nine which Ms. Figg had given him. Even that had been extremely delightful.

He happily munched on the bar, as he waited for his best mate, leaning at the wall, as he wondered if Ron had spent all his hundred on junk and wondering if he could get away with doing that. Doubtful. Somehow he was pretty sure Remus would notice and have him save most of his money. For what? Who knew.

He didn't exactly have his Quidditch gear here with him. Everything he owned outside of the rucksack he'd been lugging around with him - in addition to the deluminator Dumbledore had given him - was back at the Burrow. No Quidditch gear was exactly needed for one when they were on the run. Typically. Ron didn't seem worried about it, either way. They weren't going out to face the deadly blows of bludgers and misthrown quaffles. Hopping on their brooms, flying around. It was all simple, so long as they both managed to actually stay on their brooms. Falling off would be bad. Ron didn't have the best aim with his wand and he sort of doubted that he'd be able to make much of an impact on Harry before he hit the ground if he fell.

...certainly not something that one needed to be thinking about, was it? Best friend going splat. Oh, yeah. That was a real positive thought. If Harry had any idea, he'd likely get a good kick for it. Whoops.

Broom slung over his shoulder, Ron stepped back into the main room and grinned at the sight of Harry chewing on a Hershey's bar. "Brilliant, aren't they? They've got almonds in some of them. Least the one I had did." Ron gestured toward his pile of sweets. "Have you tried the worms? Can you believe that they don't even move?"

Harry nodded in agreement, straightening when his friend re-entered the main room. Swallowing, he answered. "Most muggle sweets don't move. Actually," He looked thoughtful, most of his experiance with the stuff was second hand or scarps or a couple of the real things when Aunt Petunia was feeling generous or Dudley just made himself ill. "I don't think any of them do." Which just went to prove how entrenched in wizarding culture that Harry was becoming, because he was sort of disappointed by that fact too.

"Ready to go then?" He asked, his eyes slanting towards Ron's broom, slight grin curving his features. "Got any idea where we should take off? I don't fancy having the muggles swarm us on the streets." He really hadn't had a chance to check out the city like he'd wanted to so he had no idea, but Ron obviously had done more exploring than he had. Because best idea Harry had was the roof.

"What?" Ron looked absolutely mortified at the concept. What good were Muggle sweets that were shaped like creatures if they didn't do anything? What a waste! They might as well have thrown their little worms into the streets and jumped all over them! Wasteful. Possibly barbaric. Well, Ron wouldn't go as far as to use that word. Hermione'd be hitting him over the head with a very large and heavy book if he did. Even if she wasn't here. A book would fall on his head somehow anyway.

Reaching out for a pack of Starburst, Ron nodded. "Good and ready, yeah," he said. Ron was actually quite eager to get out of here. The only company he had in his flat was Merlin himself and Ron didn't really know how to talk to him. The only thing he wanted to do was suggest that they hex Arthur a good one when when he least expected it, but something told him that Merlin wouldn't particularly take the the idea. Odd one, he was.

"I thought we could use the roof," he commented with a shrug. Older he might have been, but it seemed that he and Harry still had the same track of mind in some respects.

"I think it's just to amuse and weird out kids. You've got to remember muggles aren't used to things like moving pictures or chess pieces or sweets. Multicoloured worms that are gummy are things worth selling."

Harry took out the M and M's in his pocket and started in on those, he nodded, "Was thinking that. Closest place too and I reckon they won't be paying it much attention." Though it'd be an interesting reaction if the muggles were to look up and see them flying. Harry hoped they didn't get into too much trouble over it.

Grabbing his broom, securely he paused before taking his own pack of Starburst before turning and heading out.

"I suppose it is for them," Ron agreed, "but they really could have put a bit more effort into making these realistic, right? At least give them a bit more of the...er, whatever it is that these are made of to make them wiggle when you pick them up. Like jello!" Honestly, muggles could really afford to be a bit more creative. It was a wonder they sold any sweets at all. Ron realized that he probably sounded a lot like Fred and George right about now, but what did Harry expect? He was their brother and he did happen to hear them pitch things between them often.

Carelessly nudging the door shut behind himself, Ron followed Harry up to the roof. A few people in passing gave them curious looks - what were those two doing with those funny looking brooms? - but Ron didn't pay them any mind. He was used to people looking at him oddly when he was with Harry. He was Harry fucking Potter, after all.

"I'll have you know that my skills have improved drastically," Ron said, shooting him a grin.

"That's an idea." Harry said, considering, before frowning slightly, a thoughtful expression on his face, before a corner of his lips quirked up. "Jello might break apart. And maybe worms really are ... gummy." He couldn't say he knew much about the way worms tasted.

Harry wasn't so much oblivious to the looks as he ignored them. They were easier to ignore because he had a feeling that people were looking at him and Ron because of the brooms and not because they were Ron Weasley and Harry Potter. And that actually helped in further lifting Harry's already cheery mood.

When they reached the roof, Harry grinned at Ron in return. "The twins finally beat it into you?" He knew that the Weasley's tended to play against each other. Harry was certain even his skills would sky rocket if he had to practice with the Weasley twins sending bludgers at his head all summer. It would have quite quickly become a matter of survival.
