"Caprica?" Winona asked. It wasn't a Federation planet she'd ever heard of, so he was likely from another reality. Especially if he was talking about starting a time reckoning system on Earth, rather than adopting the existing one. "The Galactica? That's your ship." At least his people had that technology. "I worked on a ship called the Kelvin. George and I both did. But I was planning on retiring after this last mission was done, to take care of the boys." She laughed as he talked about boys and their fathers. "Well...Jim, at least, listens to George better than me. He's a daddy's boy, no question."
She lead the way toward their building, mindful of the phaser she kept in her shoulderbag in case he somehow turned out to be crazy...not that she thought he would, and smiled brightly. "It wasn't pity," she said, shaking her head. "Just good, Midwestern hospitality."
