He listened intently to what Claire was telling him, holding back the look of surprise when she sat down beside him. This was not at all what he expected. She hadn't run, hadn't even flinched at the condition of the visible sections of his face. She was young and pretty, and those tended to be the quickest to run or attack him. He couldn't help but smile. This was more kindness than he'd experienced in his entire life, and it warmed his heart considerably.
So he had an apartment provided for him, and not only that but one without roommate. That was convenient. He doubted very much that Claire's kindness was a universal trait of people here. "That is very good to know." He gestured to the general area of his face. "People do not always have such kind reactions when they see my face." His hands at least, while overly large, did not have any major scarring. That was saved for his wrists, where the hands were connected to the arms.
He took the PDA back with a grateful smile, sliding it into his pocket for now. He'd have to stop at the bank and get this money later, but for now he was content to speak with Claire. He pulled his knees up a bit and wrapped his arms around them. When she asked about his name, he smiled and shook his head. "I do not mind." He considered how to word his explanation. "My father never gave me a name. I suppose...he was not ready to be a father, nor for such an...odd child." Odd, of course, being a more polite stand-in for "deformed".
