WHO: Willow Rosenberg, Buffy Summers, Sirius Black, and Harry Potter (in that order)
WHAT: Wolf-sitting.
WHEN: Night of the full moon (August 6th) - same time as this.
WHERE: Outside of the 'werewolf building'.
RATING: TBD
STATUS: In Progress

Awkward. That's how Willow felt as she hurriedly ran a brush through her hair. Awkward, and confused, and embarrassed and... awkward. Yes, she actually felt awkward twice as much as the others. Possibly three times as much, she couldn't be sure. All she knew was that she'd had one of the best naps she'd had in years, if not her entire life, and it was quite likely due to having fallen asleep with Oz.

Oz, who was her ex-boyfriend and the first love of her life. Oz, who was very much a boy. Oz who... well, he was Oz and, while he would always have a piece of her heart, Willow had considered herself far, far, far over him.

Until she'd woken up on that couch with a smile on her face and the feeling of his body against hers and... awkward. Yes. Very, very awkward.

Truthfully, if she wasn't the one responsible for keeping the city safe from the werewolves, she probably would have feigned being sick and locked herself in the bedroom for the night. However there were others that were counting on her, others who were going to be present tonight to sit with her, and she couldn't just not show up. That would be bad.

So she finished getting herself and her supplies ready (although she didn't bother changing clothes since, really, the ones she'd taken the nap in were some of the comfiest she owned) and came out of the bedroom determined not to dwell on what had happened. She'd even managed to smile at Oz as they'd left the apartment together and keep up semi-idle chitchat the entire walk to the building. Yet with every passing second, the situation just seemed to grow even more uncomfortable until she was giving herself a mental peptalk just to keep herself from fleeing back to the apartment.

It was just a nap, she told herself firmly. Just a little nap with someone that I happen to care about and it wasn't bad or dirty or wrong and it didn't mean anything and... and... oh, who am I kidding? With a soft sigh, her gaze cut to the man walking beside her and she finally worked up enough nerve to speak about That Which Had Transpired.

"So, about this afternoon. I-" Anything she said was stopped, rather abruptly, as she spotted someone else drawing near. With another sigh, she gave Oz a weak sort of smile and backed out before the other person could get too close.

"Um... nevermind."

Oz had been trying not to think about that. And, well, he wasn't doing the best job of not thinking about it. Because, in all honesty, he had never gotten completely over her. It was Willow after all. But even though he had never gotten over her, that didn't mean that he hadn't long since resigned himself to the fact that there wasn't a chance in the universe that would lead back to that. And sure, he understood that it was just accidentally falling asleep together, that meant nothing at all when it came down to it, but for a few seconds there when he had just woken up, he had been at peace.

Not just the sort of at peace that comes with waking up from any ol' nap, and not just like how he let people think he was calm about things when he really wasn't. He still had the moon on his mind, but he was content there with her. At least, he was content until they had really come to and, okay, content went out the window and transformed into awkward.

But instead of telling her that he liked waking up like that, that he'd missed it for, okay, lets be honest here, years he just shrugged, eyes staying strait ahead. "No big deal."

Remus had been waiting outside the building for Oz and Willow, hoping they would arrive before Sirius did so that Willow could set the wards and keep him out. He didn't want to deal with that stress right now, when his nerves were already frayed to the point of breaking. He understood Sirius's concerns and his desire to be there, but he couldn't take that sort of risk. He'd lost Sirius once, and he didn't want to go through that again. Besides, it was awkward enough in the aftermath of their conversations with Tonks, and he wasn't quite up to dealing with his lover. His emotions were already on edge, and seeing Sirius wouldn't help that.

Willow and Oz approached and he was suddenly aware of their scents, they were all over each other. He looked from one to the other and back again a few times, cocking his head to the side. "Huh..." he said. "Thank you again for this, Willow," he said softly. "I'm just going to go in, before Sirius can show up...best that way."

As he went into the building, Buffy came over to Willow and Oz with a few boxes of pizza. "Hey guys," she said with a smile. This was her second night of wolf-sitting, and she was starting to enjoy it. "How are two of my favorite Scoobies?" she asked. She set the pizzas off to the side and waited in case Oz and Willow needed to have any important discussions before Oz went inside. She and Willow would have all night to talk.

Sirius had hoped he'd arrive at the building before Remus. The more insistent Remus was that he didn't need or want to see Sirius beforehand, the more Sirius grew convinced that the werewolf felt worse than usual. And was probably terrified, at that. And even if he wasn't, Sirius bloody was. And he wanted to see him, damnit!

Course, it was also a mistake to underestimate Moony's stubbornness, he realized as soon as he arrived. When Remus made a decision, he would carry it out. "He's gone in already, hasn't he," Sirius remarked gruffly to the group of strangers outside the building. It was more a statement than a question.

He sighed and shook his head before remembering at least something resembling manners. "Sirius Black," he said, and stuck out a hand to the first of the group. Red hair. Looked familiar. "Ah, you must be... Willow, yeah?"

Harry arrived a little later than all of them, he appeared near all of them a bit short of breath. He'd been running because he wanted to see Remus before he went .. in. He didn't know why. Since he saw Remus nearly every day since he showed up in Colligo, but he just .. did. However, when he got there, he saw that Remus wasn't any where to be found, and Harry manage to squelch down the disappointment. Mostly by focusing on the other people. Mostly Sirius and Willow.

He wasn't sure what it was about Willow but she made him feel dopey. Not stupid but .. you know, well .. that thing. And well, she really was fucking ace. And she ... Harry pushed the thoughts away, or well, he tried his best as a fourteen year old boy. And seeing as he was Harry Potter and mostly determined, he mostly succeeded. This wasn't about the warm feeling in the pit of his stomach that was accompanied by light-headed fuzziness when he looked at Willow. This was about Remus being alright. And Sirius, who was probably contemplating blasting a hole into one of the walls to go in and stay with Remus.

Harry walked over and stood right next to his godfather, arm just briefly bumping against Sirius'. And he introduced himself to Willow's blonde friend. Who was ... really tiny. And while very, very pretty (Harry had glasses but wasn't blind) thankfully didn't make him want to contemplate thoughts of vomitting like Willow did.

Unaware of Harry's inclination to throw-up when looking at her, Willow smiled brightly at both of the newcomers. She had just finished realizing, however belatedly, that Remus could probably smell Oz all over her and her all over Oz, and as per usual style for her was acting overly perky because of her embarrassment. The worst thing was, she was embarrassed and hadn't even done anything.

Still, that didn't stop the grin, or shaking of Sirius' hand, or waving at Harry. And it certainly didn't stop the patented Willow-babble that immediately followed those things.

"Hiya! Yep, I'm Willow, and it's really great to meet both of you. Not that we haven't met online already but to meet in person is even better and Buffy brought pizza and I have sodas so we can all just sorta make ourselves comfy and oh Goddess, somebody stop me from babbling anymore, now please." Her mouth clamped shut and she glanced toward Buffy, eyes somewhat widened, in an attempt to get her to speak up and stop her before she made an even bigger fool out of herself.

Remus was all the way inside when he smelled Sirius nearby. He sighed with frustration and turned around, hating the way he could always tell when the other man was nearby on days like this. He wasn't being fair, avoiding Sirius like this, and the least he could do was show Sirius he was okay before he spent the moon separate from him. Walking back out, he gave Sirius a frustrated look. He'd never been particularly strong-willed when it came to his lover.

"Before you say anything, you impossible idiot," he growled, though there was an undercurrent of affection, "if you even mention coming in there, I will hex you six ways to Sunday." He finally gave a small smile. "That said...I'm glad to see you. And now that you can see I'm just fine, will you please get Padfoot to settle down?" He really didn't look worse off physically, but there was something intangible under the surface that seemed close to snapping in half. He hugged Sirius, aware of the people around but not particularly caring. He needed that bit of physical connection to get him through this, even though he hadn't been willing to admit it Sirius or himself. "Stop worrying, love. I'll be fine. I promise."

Buffy was more focused on Willow's babbling and smiled indulgently. "It's okay, Wills," she said, "the babbling has been a staple of many nights like this. We welcome the babbling." She looked at Harry and smiled. "Hi, Harry," she said cheerfully. "I'm Buffy. It's nice to meet you." What else was she really supposed to say?

When Harry came over to his side, Sirius had to admit, the pain in his chest died down a few degrees. Harry was obviously trying to let Sirius know he was there for him, and just knowing that his godson was here and they were together again helped greatly. Sirius managed a smile at him and squeezed his shoulder briefly.

He snorted at Willow's babbling and hoped it at come out good-naturedly. He wasn't really intending to come off as a complete bastard, especially when Willow and her friends were doing all they could to help, but given the events of the day he wasn't sure he could help it.

He didn't have much time to worry about it though, because that's when Remus came storming back out of the building and Sirius pretty much froze. Remus was lecturing him about something or other, obviously, but Sirius wasn't paying much attention to the actual words, because he was too busy being relieved and simultaneously checking that Remus looked alright. And he had to admit- as was usual each month, he looked pale and tired... but no better or worse than any other full moon.

The hug came as a slight surprise, especially since they weren't usually so... public, but Sirius wasn't about to question. He returned the hug fervently, and tried as hard as he could to believe what Remus was saying to him. "You bloody well better be," he answered, shutting his eyes and squeezing tighter once more and muttering a "love you" before letting go.

And, after barely a half-second's pause, yanking him back in again and kissing him. So there were a bunch of bloody strangers and his fourteen year old godson watching. Bugger that all. Remus could convince him six ways to Sunday that he'd be perfectly fine, but Sirius still needed this. And he was pretty sure Moony did too.

Harry couldn't help a wide grin at Willow's babble. He really didn't mind it at all, as he'd told her before when he'd read her babble-text. It was .. cute. Luckily his attention managed to be distracted by Remus. Relief at seeing him not worse for wear, considering. This was Harry's second time being around when Remus turned. He was just getting a handle of what was going on. His grin actually managed to get wider when Remus stormed over to Sirius and hugged him. His brow quirking up slightly as he watched the two of them. They were so terribly sappy sometimes, that it was both embarrassing and couldn't make him stop smiling. They loved each other a lot and he knew that they both loved him. It was a good feeling.

Harry made a face, it wasn't bad. He knew they could do worse. But what kid ever wanted to see his godfather kissing his boyfriend? "Gross, save the live show for people who won't be scarred. Come on, you two. Give me a chance to have some food so I can have something to lose." Despite being a bit 'eww'd out. His words were teasing. Mostly. He liked that they were affectionate towards each other, that they loved each other. He knew that they loved him, too. It was great. There was love. But if they kept that up he was going to go blind before his fifteenth.

When a female voice spoke, Harry turned his attention to her. Buffy. Seeing as his headmaster's name was Albus as was his son's and his godfather had been named after a star, Harry had no room to think that Buffy was an odd name. So he smiled good-naturedly, and replied in turn. "It's nice meet you too, Buffy. And thank you ... the both of you. For doing all of this. I, we, appreciate it." Harry said, his tone very sincere. He'd gone from no family three years ago, well at least none that'd acknowledge him, to .. to three parental figures. His godfathers (might as well, since Remus and Sirius were together til the end, and as much as he loved Sirius there was no way he was the disciplinarian) and .. and his mother. Harry refused to lose either one in any possible way. And he knew what it would have done to Remus if he got out and managed to hurt someone. So yeah, Harry Potter was extremely greatful to one Buffy Summers and one Willow Rosenberg.

Willow simply grinned at Sirius and Remus. Or, okay. Maybe 'simply' grinned wasn't quite the appropriate term. More like beamed happily and mentally did a little dance at having been oh-so-certain that they were together in the books only to be proven right by the characters themselves. Fortunately before she could be caught smiling a little too perkily at their embrace, Harry spoke again and Willow's gaze flickered back to him.

"It's no big deal, really," she assured him. "Helping people is our thing. Our thing which we do." She glanced to Buffy and her smile turned a little less cat-eating-the-canary and more perky and Willow-esque. "Plus, we get pizza, which is always of the good."

Her gaze slid to Remus and Sirius as they pulled apart from their kiss. Okay. It was a little awkward now, but Remus was going to have to go back inside any old second now and she needed to make sure as soon as he did that the spells went up. Because as sure as her name was Willow Rosenberg, she knew that Sirius was going to try to figure out some way to get inside. And no way was that going to happen, not on her watch.
