Who: Dean, Jo
What: Random driving around
Where: Around the city
When: About an hour after their board conversation
Rating: None so far

Life in Colligo had definitely started to look up for Dean at the arrival of his car. Sure he still itched to find a stretch of open road and just let it run but that wasn't about to happen anytime soon and he figured he'd take what he could get. Though it wasn't like it was all bad. Apparently they existed here but also somehow existed back home, or so he'd managed to piece together with Sam having been in Colligo for weeks before he himself had shown up, but yet he had just been with Sam before finding himself in the city. So really he was trying to view it as a giant vacation. One that he couldn't leave mind you and one where people knew other versions of him and his brother had somehow knocked up Lois freaking Lane, but a vacation none the less.

All in all things could definitely be worse he figured as he glanced quickly at Jo in the passenger seat. At least he knew people here, even if he and Sammy weren't still on the best of terms and there was a lot of damage to try to get through, which Sam seemed dead set on making worse with being an ass to Lois.

"I feel like I should be pointing out landmarks or something," he joked as he glanced back at the road.

Jo was finding herself a little more at ease, as well. No, it wasn't the perfect situation and she was still trying to figure out just how the hell she'd ended up in a place like this, or what the city of Colligo itself was even all about, but so far she honestly couldn't find much to complain about. It was weird and unexplainable, but Jo was used to the weird and unexplainable, so she just figured she would sit back and go with the flow for a while.

There was no question in Jo's mind when it came to why she'd been so eager to take a ride in the Impala with Dean, but admitting it out loud was another story. Besides, after the conversations they'd had back home, or back in their own universe or dimension or whatever, she figured Dean probably already had some idea of the way she felt about him. Saying anything about it would just be redundant.

"Not like you know where anything is anymore than I do," she replied, smirking as she looked over at him from her comfortable seat in the passenger's side of the car.

He was glad they could just hang out like this without having to discuss what exactly had happened before. It wasn't that he had never thought of her the way it became clear she had thought of him, in fact it was probably closer to the opposite. Jo was indeed the kind of girl he knew would probably be good for him, someone who knew exactly who he was and what he did and would never hold it against him, never call him crazy like Cassie had, the kind of girl who would understand. And that quite frankly scared the shit out of him.

So if she was content not to bring it up then he damn well was too. He would definitely take avoiding that subject any day of the week.

He shook his head at her a little with a smirk. "Come on Jo, I'm sure you could make something up."

"Make up landmarks?" she asked, her eyebrows lifting as she grinned over at him. "Is that what you make Sam do when you're driving through a place you're not familiar with?" She chuckled, shaking her head, but then leaned forward a little to peer out the front window, looking around for a few moments before she reached up to point to a building that was quite a bit smaller than the ones surrounding it.

"That's where the first midget of Colligo lived," she said, looking back to Dean as she pointed it out and tried not to laugh at the same time. "First and only, might I add, which is what makes it so special." Did she know where it had come from? No, but it didn't matter. All that mattered was putting a smile on Dean's face, as well as her own. There hadn't been enough of that the last time."

"I tried to once but he's not as willing as you are apparently," he teased her with a small grin but paid attention to her fake landmark. He liked that she could make a good distraction from thinking about the mess he'd left behind, the distance between him and Sam.

"Poor midget, all alone in his midgety ways," he commented. "This midget, he got a name?"

Jo could have a sense of humor when she was around the right person. She wasn't always so defensive and abrasive, only when she needed to be, and she definitely didn't need to be either of those things around Dean. Well, not yet, anyway.

"Probably," she replied, still speaking as though this was the most serious conversation she'd ever had. "No one really knows what it is, though. He never talked to anyone long enough for them to get to know his name. He's a bit of a recluse, see, on account of the fact that he has a bad case of leprosy." At that, the corners of her mouth lifted upward and she started to grin, but she wasn't looking over at Dean. She couldn't, or else she would just start cracking up.

"Ah man, midget and a leper, poor dude," he sympathized, though there was a distinct shaking in his expression as he tried to keep serious about Colligo's midget. "He needs a midget lady friend," Dean noted.

"Though the leprosy might be a bit of a problem," he mused and stifled a laugh.

Jo couldn't help but laugh out loud this time, throwing her head back against the headrest and letting out a hearty chuckle. It felt good, damn good, and she really couldn't remember the last time she'd just goofed off and didn't worry about hunting or her mom or the things she'd left behind -- and was beginning to regret doing so, but she wouldn't readily admit that.

"Sex would be...difficult with leprosy, yeah," she replied once her laughter had subsided enough, allowing her to speak. "But maybe that's why he's the only midget?"

He smiled as she laughed, it was nice to just have a good joke with someone. Even with Sam at the end everything had just gotten so messed up, so heavy, he'd almost forgotten what it was like to just discuss the most random and ridiculous thing. "Is that something you think about often?" he asked her with raised brows, totally joking obviously.

He came to a stop at a red light and glanced around the intersection a store to their left catching his eye for a moment. When the light changed he turned and parked kitty corner to the store. "Hey, I just want to check something out," he said as he got out of the car.

He waited with her until the road was clear and then darted across the street into the store, the kind of place that sold custom iron on decals and shirts. But the small distinctively infant sized ones hanging in the window had been the ones to catch his attention. "Think they'd have that in AC/DC?" he asked Jo with a grin, there was no way any niece of his was going to wear the ones with Madonna on the front that were hanging in the window.

"No, it isn't," she replied earnestly, though the grin on her face signaled the fact that she was joking just like he was. And yes, it felt good. While things for her hadn't been nearly as chaotic and insane as they had been for Dean, she'd had her own issues to deal with, and none of them included riding around making jokes about midgets with leprosy.

When Dean pulled the Impala to a stop, Jo looked around and tried to see just what it was he wanted to check out. She caught sight of the store rather easily, smirking to herself as she got out of the passenger side and crossed the street with him to enter the shop. It figured he would want to check that kind of place out, but she definitely hadn't expected him to want to browse through the kiddie clothes.

"I, ah...I don't know," she replied with a light laugh, though she was obviously surprised by his behavior. She never really knew him to be so paternal, or whatever it was he was being considering the fact that he was an uncle, not a father, but all the same, he was thinking about the child, and Jo had never seen that side of him. To be honest, it was pretty endearing. "We could ask?"

The thing was, if it had been some girl who'd shown up pregnant with his kid he'd probably be running just as fast as Sam, hell, faster. But it wasn't. And even after all of it Dean still held to the silly assumption that this life was temporary for Sam, that eventually he'd do what he said so many years ago, go back to school, find a girl, settle, be normal. He knew it was probably a stupid thing to still think but it seemed like even with all the fucked up things being here brought up it could be good for Sam. According to Adam and Castiel versions of them still existed back home so why shouldn't Sam let himself carve out a normal life here.

Either of them for that matter. He'd never really given much thought to the idea of their family extending but now that it was in front of him it didn't seem like that bad of an idea. He moved to the counter with a few binders out as the guy behind the counter said they could pick from any of the designs for the kids stuff and started flipping through one of the books.

"You know, I gotta say, all those years I read Superman comics I never in a million years dreamed my little brother would knock up Lois freaking Lane," he said with a grin and held up the book to show Jo a Black Sabbath design. "Probably not kid appropriate hey?"

Jo was never one to think about anything that regarded a normal life, and in that sense, it was where she and Dean differed greatly. He'd always longed for a normal life, while Jo wanted to be a hunter more than anything. Of course, Dean and Jo's childhoods were different, and that helped to contribute to their polar opposite opinions of the lifestyle. Now that she was here in Colligo though, with seemingly no demons to take care of, no Ellen, no nothing, Jo was finding that her view on certain things was beginning to change. She would have liked to keep hunting to sort of keep her father alive somehow, make his death not be in vain, but it wasn't quite the same world here. Maybe things could be different.

"Hell, he isn't even my brother and I'm freaked," Jo replied with a small smirk, heading up to the counter with him. "But, you know, it's kind of cool in a really weird kind of way." She knew that an unplanned pregnancy was really never 'kind of cool,' but just in theory, the fact that it was Lois Lane just made it seem that way.

Flipping through the nearby binder, she nudged Dean with a grin. "Here, don't you think this would be perfect?" She pointed to an AC/DC decal, the first one she'd found.

"Yeah until Superman shows up and kicks his ass," he replied with a grin and paused. "Wait... that might still be kinda cool."

He was trying to collect the random bits of thoughts that lingered around the general idea that he wished Sam though it kinda cool when she pointed out the AC/DC decal and he took the distraction. He glanced over at the page she pointed out and nodded with a grin. "Awesome." He looked up at the shirts on the wall and for a moment seemed a little over his head. "Man, I haven't bought anything this small since Sammy was little," he commented before he reached for a red t-shirt that would work for when she was a few months old.

Jo just let go of another light laugh. Half of her mind was on the conversation, and the other half was on Dean, and the fact that he was putting together an AC/DC shirt for a baby. Granted, it was essentially his niece and she knew family meant everything to Dean, but still. It was shockingly paternal of him. And just a little bit adorable.

"I haven't bought anything that small...ever," she replied, laughing again as she crossed her arms over her chest and leaned against the counter, still watching him contentedly. "Guess I kinda missed out, being an only child and all."
